It was the happiest day of Princess Vicky Violet's life. Today she would be married to the love of her life; Prince Eric Azure, of the Cerustrong Kingdom. Everyone in the land of Peribelle would be there, including those that rarely ever attended events of the royal family, but not because of the family's wealth or status, but because Vicky Violet was the most beautiful maiden in all of the land.
As she observed herself in the large mirror engraved with fairies, the Princess herself giggled and blushed at her own beauty. Her hair was bright violet, hence her name, and it fell smoothly and perfectly just behind her ears. Her eyes were a round rose red, and she wore a diamond tiara upon her head. Today she was adorned in a beautiful pink silk wedding dress, violet gloves, stockings, and slippers, a pink rose placed by her waist, and she held a bouquet of the most beautiful violets she had ever laid her eyes on. She would surely impress her public today, and hoped that she wouldn't become a wilting violet when she set her sights on her groom.
All the guests had arrived, and the wedding was ready to start. Not a face in the crowd was dry as the soon-to-be-Queen walked up the isle, positively beaming with joy at her groom. Well, almost every face.
As the bride and groom began to exchange rings, the room went dark, and they were greeted with a cackle of laughter. As light resumed, the entire congregation gasped in horror. It was the evil magician, Ishnan!
"How did you get inside the castle??!?" Cried King Violet. Ishnan laughed again, mustache twitching evilly. "Your security is futile. It is no match for my magic!"
With a sweep of his cloak Ishnan whipped around to face the audience, primarily Peribelle's king and queen. "A pleasure to see you again, your majesties! Precisely eighteen years ago, I was banished from the land of Peribelle for using my magic to heal the sick! My powers have become ever stronger, and now I have returned for my revenge!"
"Healing?!? How absurd!!" Cried King Violet. "You weren't healing the sick! You were killing the sick and creating zombies from the different body parts for your own personal army, in an attempt to take over the kingdom!"
Ishnan laughed again. "In other words, making better use of their bodies. Much more beneficial to me."
"Seize him!" Cried King Violet. But Ishnan had gotten the better of them, for with a single wave of his hand, all of the guards had choked and fallen unconscious. "You are pitiful, Violet. And now time for my revenge!!"
Ishnan reached into his cloak pocket and pulled out a jet black pendent, and approached Vicky. The Princess froze in horror as the magician fastened the pendent around her neck. Instantly, the room grew dark once again. Vicky's eyes and the pendent were now glowing bright red, a red that had lost the warmth they used to have. Every single petal in the sanctuary wilted and died, including her bouquet and corsage.
Vicky laughed evilly. "All of you shall DIE!!!" And she dove straight for the audience, killing many with her recently aquired claws. Screams rang everywhere throughout the church, and there was a mad rush to flee the scene, or be killed next!
After most of the congregation had fled, Ishnan commanded the Princess to attack her dearly beloved; Eric. "No!" cried Queen Violet, tied up along with the king and sitting not too far away. "You can't make her do that! It would destroy her!"
"She has already destroyed the lives of many others, your Highness. When I release her, she will already have to take her own life for that." And Ishnan gave Vicky the signal.
Eric narrowly dodged the attack, but received a serious wound in the shoulder. As Vicky prepared for a second attack, Eric spoke out to her. "Vicky, my love, you don't want to do this! Look deep inside your heart, you are truly the most gentle person I have ever met! I know you could never do me in, it would go against your very soul. Vicky, I love you..."
The pendent flickered and ceased glowing. She lowered her hand, staring at it, and burst into tears as she fell into her fiance's lap. "Oh Eric! How could I?!! How could? The people? Oh, I'm so sorry!" And the only audible sound that continued from her was her weeping.
Ishnan looked livid. "True love? Break my curse??! I thought I had surpassed that barrier!" And before Eric could do anything more, Ishnan had fled.
Through Eric's encouragement and Vicky's kindness, they were able to restore peace to the land of Peribelle, though they did not know the whereabouts of Ishnan nor would they ever again. And so it can be said, that King Eric Azure and Queen Vicky Violet lived happily, ever after. The End.
