So let me tell you of a tale, a tale about a thanksgiving evening gone wrong.
Andrea and I are driving along First street while we almost hit a body laying in the middle of the road, on a green light mind you. The woman that hit him was frantically telling us to stop, so in order to not hit the already hit man, she had to swerve and almost hit the center divider.
Good news: We didn't hit the man, and we obviously didn't die.
Bad news: There is one distraught old woman and a most likely dead man at the intersection of First and Broadway in Santa Ana.
I feel so bad for the woman, she was obeying the traffic laws and hit the man while he was crossing on a green light. Judging by the placement of the body, I think he wanted to die. She said he ran out in front of her car, so it might be the case.
The ambulance came about two minutes later, and we had to stick around for questioning. We saw nothing of importance, so we were free to go. I just hope that the woman was not arrested, but only brought in for questioning.
So in short, Tina saw her first dead (or almost dead) body. Thankfully Andrea has quick reflexes and got out of the way in time, but almost at the cost of our lives.
On the way home, we almost got into an accident due to some dumbass turning into the center lane while he should have turned into the turning lane from a freeway offramp. Come to think of it, a guy in a truck did the exact same thing as we were going west on First street.
I guess there is one thing I am actually thankful for this year, Andrea's quick reflexes.
