All people old and young seem to love poems and stories about brave warriors. The poem called “Beowulf” whose author is unknown, tells a tale that many people have grown to love. Beowulf is still a good story for all modern audiences. Beowulf shows bravery, outrageous warriors, and is about a great mythical monster.
Beowulf shows great bravery is the way he acts. When Grendel and his men try to kill the people Beowulf stood in the face of danger and did not back down it shows this in by stating, “...the strout-hearted warrior snatched as he slumbered, seizing with hand-grip, forward the foeman foined with his hand; caught he quickly the cunning deviser, on his elbow he rested.” (11:36-40) They decided to keep on fighting even when they knew that they would die, it shows this by the statement, “ The liege-kinsman worthy of Higelac minded his speech of the evening...” (11:48-49) Beowulf still stood up even when things where touch and did not back down when he had the chance. He held he head up high and fought with courage and bravery. It shows this in stating, “To Beowulf was given Glory in battle...”(12:26-27)
Beowulf is also a story about courageous warriors. In Beowulf it displays great warriors for it states, “Then come to the building the warriors marching...”(11:11) They stay together no matter what to keep each other safe. Great friendship and kinsman ship they keep strong, it shows this by stating, “He held in the hall the hero's in number, a circle of kinsman sleeping together...” (11:19) The warriors also did not give up so easy, they stood there ground and did not back down. This shows this in the poem by stating, “The bold-in-battle, bent not to earthward...”. (11:64)
Beowulf is also about mythical monsters. In this poem the monster is called Grendel. They show that Grendel is a monster that is very dangerous and blood thirty when they state, “...he quickly laid hold of a soldier asleep, suddenly tore him, bit his bone-prison, the blood drank in currents, swallowed in mouthfuls: he soon had the dead mans feet and hands, too, eaten entirely.” (11:31-35) He also love to have humans for lunch as you can plainly see, it also show that in stating, “the monster intended someone of earthmen...”(11:3) Grendel, even though was a monster shows that all evil will die and the hands of the good. It shows this in stating, “A body wound suffered the direful demon damage incurable...”.(12:23-24)
Beowulf is a good story for people of all ages. Its shows how bravery, warriors and mythical creatures are still known through younger and older audiences as good entertainment. Beowulf shows how good will try to defend people from evil even if it means that they die in the attempt.
