Dancing to forget. Throwing myself into the endless abyss of open hands and pulsating bodies. Trying to forget the feel of your hands and the look of your eyes. I throw myself into the waiting hands of strangers. Closing my eyes so as not to see you. To stop my restless eyes from searching yours in the darkness. Foreign hands roam my body and strange hands clasp my own as the dance becomes frenzied. My body moves with the stranger's. Every rise and low is met and every beat is returned. Until even I don't recognize myself. Then in that small moment of weakness i open my eyes and they fall on yours and my heart breaks. TO see you in the arms of a stranger. But I continue to dance until my shoes are worn out until they run out of strangers to pass me to. Until millions of hands have carress my body. But the dance must eventually end and i remain empty save for my memories of you. Which continue to haunt my waking hours and the many sleepless nights.
