I'm standing on a Cliff.
Before me is a Pit
That ends in Nothingness.
Behind me,
A life of Pain
Of Anguish,
Of Terror,
Of Joy & Hope
I'd like to go back to that Life
But I can't find the Path
Years ago I was in this same Place
Wondering these same things
& I saw a Soul
That Soul stopped me
From going into the Nothingness
But that Soul had been Tainted
Through the years.
I had given up Hope of finding another Anchor
To keep me Here.
But then I heard a Voice.
It was Soothing & Calming.
It Called to me & Stopped me from
Joining the Nothingness.
Maybe if I give in & Turn around,
The path back to my Life will be there.
But I'm Frightened.
I've turned so many times
Only to find the way still Blocked
I know I can Trust this New Voice
My heart tells me so.
But the Darkness within says Other things
Hatefull things
My only Hope is to find the Courage
To turn around
& Find the Person that the Voice belongs to
Some How, Some Way
