The scent of magic, the beauty that's been...
-------------------
Well, today was...sad in a sense. Not the "OMG, I have to angst today" or "I was disappointed with (insert whatever).
No, the kind of sad today was the kind where you find out someone died. Here's the situation:
At my old high school and where my younger brother currently goes, a sophomore died in his sleep last night. Other than that, they didn't give any details. My brother told us this when he came home; his musical practice had been cancelled (I believe all the practices that were taking place after school were cancelled) and he came home to tell us this. My bro didn't know him real well, and while the name sounded familiar to me, I didn't know him at all.
Now, you might ask "What does this have to do with VB if she didn't know the kid?" Apparently, during the first period of the school day, the whole student body (of this small, private school) had to gather and the dean announced that the sophomore died. When I was told this, it made me think of back when I was in high school as a freshmen and we all had to gather when my then-dean and then-principal announced the 9/11 tragedy.
While the two tragedies have nothing in common, it brought back memories of that (since many people died) and a few others that took place before I got to that high school. These things in my opinion are like my saying "Life is like playing Poker with God. You deal with whatever he's given ya, whether it be a good or bad hand." At least that's what I thought...
Anyway, just had to get that out of my head~
