Abigail is a runaway prisoner of heaven. She was captured and taken away for a crime she didn't even know of. She was tortured and just about killed before some other Angels, who knew she was not the one who comitted the crime, broke her chains and set her free. Even though she was free, it took almost a year for her to leave. Since she needed time to heal and a way to escape from heaven.
She carries around a red rag that is tied around her waist. It was the symbol of her being the prisoner. She doesn't get rid of it, but doesn't know why, or tell anyone what it's for.
The red cross on her arm is a tattoo that all prisoners are forced to get, so they can be identified.
