Deja Vu
Sit now, little mortal, and listen to the first of many tales i have to tell. I could think of no better story to start with. The following tale was written by yours truely and submitted to my english teacher Mrs. Timberlake earlyer this year... Enjoy... or dont... at this point i could not care less.

Have you ever felt like you have done something, or been somewhere before you have ever thought about being there or doing it but know in your heart you have not? What about knowing how a conversation will go before the thought of talking to the person even crosses your mind? If you have, then you have felt the grip of Deja-Vu. I tell you this because Deja-Vu plays a major role in the story I have to tell.

Now, before I tell my tale, there are some facts that you must know. First and foremost, I recently spent some time, six months to be exact, in Avon Lake, Ohio. This story takes place during that time around the second month of the stay. February... around the third I believe. I can not be sure of the exact date. During my stay in Ohio, I lived with my Grandma and her son Jack. Also note that I have only told a handful of people about this, because I know not many people would believe me. Now that that is cleared up, I can begin my tale...

The clock read 6:30: It was time for me to get ready for class. I rolled out of bed, got dressed and was headed out the door when I noticed the shirt my sister was wearing. It was a back Tee with the Hatchet Man, the logo of I.C.P., imprinted on the front. I know I had never seen the shirt before, but it seemed like I could remember her wearing it. I shrugged the feeling of and started on my way to school.

On my way to class, I happened to look to my right as I crossed Applegate Lane and seen an odd dog, the creature was a huge fluffy black Chowchow. He trotted down the road, sniffing at trees and signs before disappearing down the ally. I watched it for a moment before continuing on my way. About ten minutes later, I looked across the street to see an identical dog do the exact same thing. I know it was not the same animal because of the direction I was heading and the why the first Chow had went. I shook my head and muttered something about losing my mind before heading off once more.

I believe I will shorten the story a bit by cutting out what I deem as minor details, leaving only those that are important to the story, if I did not, this would take all day. I glanced up at the clock, counting the seconds until lunch. –Tick... Tick-. I hated English class; all we ever did is grammar, grammar and more grammar! After a moment I pulled my attentions and focused on the teacher, still droning on about punctuation usage or some such. The odd feeling of Deja-Vu hit me again; I tried to place what caused it when I muttered to myself, “Where is Jared..?”

I frowned, and focused back onto the teacher. After a few moments, I heard the room door open and close, I was too busy with my textbook to look, but it didn’t take long for me to figure out who it was. “Psst, John! Hey Johnny!” The odd feeling was gone as quickly as it had come as I looked over to see my good friend Jared, looking extremely excited. “Hey man, what’s up? Where have you been?” He grinned at me and said, “Never mind that! Guess what I have?” I smirked at him, “A new pair of pants I would hope.” He glared at me for a moment, Jared would always wear girl jeans and I liked to annoy him about it. “No smartass...” He held up two pieces of paper, “Tickets to the Disturbed concert in Cleveland! You in?” I grinned, Disturbed is my favorite band, “Hell Yeah!” We did a high five and earned a glare form the teacher.

Class went slowly after that, but finally lunch came! I remember walking into the bustling cafeteria and looking over the tables, noting each face. Once again, I was struck by the feeling that I had already been there and something big was about to happen... I paused and thought for a moment, trying to puzzle out this enigma. I looked up to see a hooded senior, who I identified as another of my friends, Michael sneaking away down the hall, he seen me and waved with an odd grin on his face. After this he took off in a run down the hall. As soon as I seen him, it hit me. I knew exactly what was about to happen before the firecrackers went off and the sound of exploding black cats filled the air.

I couldn’t help my self, I started to cackle. “I AM losing my mind!” I thought to myself. Everyone around me was scared and almost all of the girls where screaming. I looked to Michael to see him get tackled by Officer Tate, the school patrol officer. If I remember correctly, Michael got expelled for that little stunt, not that he cared...

The day went slowly after that, me getting feelings of Deja-Vu regularly. I even had predicted there would be a surprise math quiz and studied accordingly... I got myself a B-. You may be wondering by now what is with all of these feelings. Where am I heading with this? What is my point? Well, I am just about to explain.

Later that night, I was getting ready for the concert, but I couldn’t shake the feeling of dread I got every time I thought about getting into that car. I finally called up Jared and told him that I was not feeling well; I told him I was sorry and ironically I remember telling him “I will make it up to you tomorrow.” I still don’t know how I managed to talk him out of going by himself, but I am very glad I did. I decided to turn in early for a Friday night, as I lay in bed, I remember feeling an odd sense of calm.

In the morning, I flipped on the Television and was looking through the channels when something caught my eye, a news report about a huge twenty-three car pile up on the very road we would have used to get to Cleveland at almost the exact same time we would have been using it. I immediately called Jared up and told him to turn the channel to the news and watch.

Here is where I shall end my story. I want to remind you that everything you just read was true. I made nothing up, though I did leave out a few lesser details. Rather or not you believe me is your problem, but what ever you decide, remember this the next time you feel the touch of Deja-Vu because you never can tell when something unexpected my accrue, or perhaps it already has... you may just not know it yet.

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I had to kill because they pissed me off.
