kids and suicide? yesterday, Valentines Day, day of love. I received a phone call that one of my students, tried to kill herself with pills, they learned later she was a cutter....can someone out there explain to me why a 14 yr old girl wants to do that to herself, was it because she didnt love herself was it the three boys that raped her, was it that her mom was in jail ,was it her dad on drugs,that she turned to her boyfreind for solace.being only 14 himself the suicide note was addressed to him.,"saying the world would be better off without me in it, in the only person she loved was him.......please give me some feedback????????

s**t.
it sounds like the world took a big crap on her. goddamnit it sounds like she's had a very hard life. and being 14 when puberty is making her as emotional as possible i can understand why she thought suicide was a good idea. but its not. it never is a good idea.

it sounds like she needs to get away from herself for a while. she needs something bigger than herself to believe in.
if i knew her i would want to take her camping. and fishing. and all the great things the outdoors and wilderness can offer. to me there is nothing greater than the wilderness.

whoever decides to help her. and i mean REALLY help her must do it subtley. she musnt be told that life is worth living but shown it, and must realize it herself.

Oh my.

Is there anyway you can let her know that you are there for her? Maybe just her knowing that you care will help a bit.
