The world is a river with a waterfall at the end; if you follow the river, the trends of society, it ends badly. So even though swimming against the river is hard, it will keep you safe and happy.

Society is always trying to push us this way and that, make us go with the flow. Society tries to push us faster and faster, moving us along with the rest of the cattle. And at the end, where do the cattle end up? Yeah, not a good place. Don't be afraid to go at your own pace. Take everything at your own leisure; you like it really fast, then be fast, you like things nice and slow, then take your time. Don't go directly against society though, that will get you trampled by those coming towrds you. You shouldn't fight the system, you should hack it.
