Marked

I stood there in the woods looking at Connor in silence. “H-How?” I stuttered. He glared then he got to his feet, and brushed the dead leaves off his pants. “I got marked at my last school by some jock,” He began, “He told me the same thing I told you. That its your destiny, that load of crap.” I still stared at him, scared beyond belief but I kept my cool. “W-Why?” I stuttered again. He sighed. “Why what?” he asked. “Why me? Why you? This doesn’t make sense!” I yelled. “I know it doesn’t make since why the people who marked us chose us. All I know is that the werewolf thing is permanent.” He said.

I started freaking out. “No way! Naw uh! I’m not being a stupid werewolf!” I screamed then I started running. It was my only chance to escape. I started hearing low, angry growls from behind me. “Uh oh! I made him mad!” I called in my head. Thump! Thump! Connor’s big footsteps shook the ground where I ran, and then I felt a sharp pain in my right shoulder. My feet came to a stop. As I looked over my shoulder I realized that Connor had bit me. In and out, his teeth sore threw my skin, he was drinking my blood I felt it. When he finally released me I felt something forming on my skin, it hurt like heck. “Ahhh! It hurts!” I screamed. I fell to my knees unable to control the pain. I looked over at my shoulder and I saw that my skin was forming into something. That was the last thing I saw before everything went black.

When I woke up a few hours later I was back at my own house, in my own bedroom. My hands were bandaged up from Connor's claws. How can that be? “Mom?” I called. I got out of my bed and went downstairs. “I’m going to kill that Connor tomorrow.” I thought. I was so mad at him. I looked over in the living room and saw the devil himself. “Speak of the devil. There he is.” I whispered to myself. I narrowed my eyes at him. “Oh Sum! Your finally awake! Are you okay?” my mother asked. “I’m fine,” I said “What’s he doing here?” I asked angrily. He shouldn’t’ be here in my own home. “He’s the one who brought you home, and he’s the one who volunteered to stay here until you woke up.” My dad snapped. “Maybe he wants to drink my blood again.” I mumbled to myself. Connor narrowed his eyes. Obviously he heard me. “What did you say?” my mother questioned.

I said nothing. “You can leave now Connor I’m fine now.” I said in a snotty way. Connor rolled his eyes and started walking to the door. “No wait! We have to repay you for bringing our daughter home. Please stay for dinner.” My mother said politely. NO! NO! NO! NO! Werewolves would rather have you for dinner, than have it with you. “Alright, if its okay with you.” He said. “Of for crying out loud.” I thought. Cut the crap Connor I know your faking your sweetness. “Of course it is! Now have a seat by Summer’s seat” my mother said. What?!?!?! That’s a load of crap! If mom’s so blessed with him “saving me” why can’t he sit by her?

This was definitely not my best day. “So Connor,” my dad began talking “have you ever had a girlfriend?” I literally spitted up my milk. Why did he have to ask that? “No I haven’t, but I do have one girl in mind.” He said. “Oh that’s good. At least we know your sociable. Do you want to see a video of Summer dancing when she was little, maybe after that I’ll show you pictures of when she as a toddler.” My mother said happily. I was about ready to pull my freaking hair out. Why would my parents do this to me?

I got out of my seat and started walking up the stairs. I said nothing. “No thanks, I just need to talk to Summer really quick.” Connor said. Crap…what does he want now? We both went into my room. “Well?” I said. He stared at me. “I’m sorry okay? I just wanted it to get over with. Plus you were being a baby.” He said. I rolled my eyes. “You expect me to believe you Conner? You’ve been so snotty to me now you’re all of a suddenly being nice?” I asked. He sighed. “I said I was sorry, and I mean it Sum.” He said. I narrowed my eyes. He had no right to call me that.

He looked at the clock and started walking to the door. “I’ll just see you tomorrow I guess.” He said. I turned around and watch him leave. “I guess I’ll just ask him more questions tomorrow.” I thought.
