I have yet to see Twilight, but I doubt I will. It deviates too far from the vampire myth...

I must agree with you on this. I have read all four novels of the Twilight series, and even though it was well written and described, I do find the vampire myth quite off.
My favourite vampire film will always remain An Interview with a Vampire, based on the novel by Anne Rice.

My favorite vampire films have always been those starring Christopher Lee. How I remember my fledgling nights watching those films. Until Twilight, I don't believe there was a vampire film that I didn't wish to see.
