Zahir says stuff.
I use big words. I R TEH SMRT.
zOMG!
So I've been pretty inactive on the site for a while - I've not really looked at GD in weeks, because I'm not sure it's a place I want to be any more. And without GD, what else is there for me? Not much, I'm afraid.

Until recently, anyway. I've been playing zOMG! over the last couple of days, as you can probably tell from the badges on my profile. It's fun, in a simple time-occupying kind of way, and I'm still exploring stuff.

So where are people playing? Which is to say, what kind of timeslots? It'd be cool to crew up with some of you, get back in touch, go adventuring together. Zahir's CL 3.1 at the moment, though I've been orb farming in the Village Greens to try and power up a bunch before I venture further into the Zen Gardens and onwards. Need more powerful rings.

Especially for the OMGWTF fight, which I've not been able to defeat yet. Jeebus Cripes, that thing's tough. gonk

Hey there. Nice to see you again, I just came back myself. I've played ZOMG for all of 8 minutes and don't understand the ring system at all.
Plus it lags my computer like crazy. Advice? biggrin

Joking saint: Oh hey, long time no see. I've kind of abandoned hope on GD, and was only really checking back for the announcements and stuff since getting demodded. But then the lure of Killing Things And Taking Their Stuff drew me back. xd

The game's not exactly kind to older machines. My computer's no slowpoke, but get a half-dozen players mixing it up with a bunch of monsters, and the framerate drops through the floor. xp

From what I understand of the ring system, each ring gives you specific powers - some are boosts to your stats, some are defences against attack (usually these only work on other Gaians, presumably to encourage team play), some inflict damage on the enemy, some heal you up. Each use of a ring drains a little Stamina (which is basically mana by another name), and when you run out of Stamina you can't use any rings 'til it recharges.

Rings start out at Charge Level 1.0. With each monster you kill there's a chance they'll drop a Charge Orb, and when in the Null Chamber you can use these Charge Orbs to power up your rings. You can also get Charge Orbs by completing NPC quests. The higher the CL of a ring, the more powerful its effects.

The key to playing is to pick a selection of rings that works best for you, and charge them up over time - so a balance of attack (ranged and melee), defense and healing is generally the way to go. Also, it's a good idea to team up with other players if you're having trouble. 3nodding

Grammardor: I'm on UK time, which is GMT, which is five hours ahead of EST, or eight hours ahead of PST. If you see me online then feel free to prod me and we can tag-team. I'm at CL 3.2 or thereabouts now, and about halfway through the Zen Gardens questline. biggrin

Lulz, I remember trying to beat OMGWTF. My clan and I had to face it about five times per person who had the quest (around ten of us). So in total, around fifty times. Utter chaos. Best method We found for defeating it is have a full crew and have one person constantly health-bomb, another person buff-bomb, and the other four just attack-spam. That and don't trigger the waves until everyone is at max stamina/health and buffed.

As far as when I'm playing, random times. Normally with a couple clan mates late at night (edt).

But yeah, OMGWTF is fun to do.

Also, not sure if you'd remember it (I don't even remember the user's name who did it), but I found this while cleaning out my photobucket. Figured I'd send you the link:http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v694/Sgt_Moody/spam pictures/?action=view&current=zahirorlycopy0yg.jpg
