Vampire story [untitled until I think of name.]
Chapter one: A new home.

“Cheer up, you’ll be fine.” My mom said as we were packing our final items into our minivan. ‘Fine, sure.’ I thought, rolling my eyes, making sure my mother didn’t see it. I got into the back of the car, sitting next to my twelve year old sister, Amy. My Siberian Husky Shadow was ready to plop his big head on my lap, as usual. "It's gonna be different from the big city, but you will like it. I promise." My dad said from the driver's seat. "Yeah, okay." I said, still looking mad. He started the car and drove away. I looked out the window at our house one last time, a tear in my eyes. A half hour later, we were on the bridge that took us out of New York forever. I looked back and watched my city fade away into the background. 'Good-bye school, friends, and Alicia.' I thought, thinking about my ex-girl friend. It was painful to look into her big, beautiful brown eyes and tell her that I was moving and I couldn't see her anymore. I sighed sadly and put my MP3 player on, closing my eyes and listening to the music.

I must have fallen asleep, because the next thing I know, it was dark outside. My mother was driving now, letting my dad rest for a while. "How long till we get there?" I asked. "About an hour. Go back to sleep." My mom replied, looking at me in the rearview mirror. I nodded, and drifted back to sleep.

“Sasha, wake up. We’re here.” Amy called, pulling me out of dream land. “Huh?” I asked groggily. Shadow leaped out of the car and barked, as if he was telling me to hurry up. With a heavy sigh, I got out of the car. I looked at the two story house and sighed. It looked similar to the house we had in New York, but it had the country style to it. I walked in, and saw that the movers already put the furniture where my dad had instructed them, but there were white walls everywhere. My mom must have seen the look on my face because she said, “Don’t worry; we’re going to paint it. We will go to the store and pick out the paint tomorrow. Let’s go to your new room.” I followed my mom upstairs, and she showed me my room. “Decent size.” I said, looking around. I could already tell how I would decorate it, and where my posters would go. “Glad you like it. Time for bed, we’re starting the day early.” My mom said, kissing me on the forehead and leaving me in my new room. I threw my shoes off, went into a box that contained my pajamas, and took them out. I took off my clothes and slipped my pajamas on. Then, I found where they put my sheets, pillow cases, and blanket, and put those on my bed. After that, I turned the light off, and crawled into bed.

I woke up; expecting it to be bright, like New York, but it was dark and gloomy outside. ‘Great, this is what I have to look forward to everyday.’ I sighed and got up, going to my box of clothes and grabbing a pair of pants, a shirt and my undergarments, and then headed for the shower.

After the shower, I went downstairs for breakfast. I sat down and my mom had a plate of eggs and toast ready for me. “Thanks,” I said, grabbing the pepper and pouring some onto my eggs. “We’re going to go to the store to get paint for the rooms today.” My dad said, taking a sip of his coffee. “I’m going to pick bright pink,” Amy exclaimed, looking happy. “What are you going to pick?” She asked me, looking interested. “Black.” I joked. “I was just kidding!” I said, seeing the look on my mom’s face. “I’ll probably pick out light purple.”

A half hour later, and we were all piling into the minivan, on our way to the local store. When we got there, my parents and Amy went straight to the paint department. I was wandering around, looking for stuff to add to my room. I must have been day dreaming because I hadn’t noticed a girl in my path and I bumped into her. “Oops. I am so sorry.” I exclaimed, looking at the girl. She was exotic looking, like she was half Asian. She was gorgeous. “It’s okay. I’m fine.” She said, smiling. Then, she walked away. I walked to where my family was, and my father just looked at me. “What?” I asked, trying not blush. “Nothing.” He chuckled. I shot him a playful dirty look, then went to go pick out my paint. I picked out a medium color purple, not too dark, but not too light, and handed it to Amy. “I’m gonna go look for some c.d.s.” I told my mom. “Okay, hurry up.” She said, heading to the checkout counter. I went to the electronics department, and started looking through the c.d racks. I found a couple of c.ds that I haven’t owned, and I bought them using money from my birthday, which was last month.
