I'm overdosing on Moribito right now. =] Who knew a plot could be this addictive? I hope that everything works out for Chagum and Balsa. I'd rather Chagum didn't die in the end. It's pretty sad that Sagum died. I wonder, would he have lived if he had known that Chagum was alive? He really was a nice guy.
I also hope that things will work out between Shuga and Balsa. They're both trying to ensure Chagum's survival, but they won't realize it until Shuga finds out about the La Lunga (egg eater). I have a feeling that Balsa, Tanda, Chagum, Shaman Torogai, and Shuga are all going to end up working together in the end.
Even so, a happy ending is uncertain. I wonder, if the water spirit bears an egg every 100 years, why has no one aside from Shuga, Torogai, and those involved, realized what has been happening to the Prince? Surely, they would have learned from the past water spirit guardians. It's strange. I'm also curious as to why the egg eater might want to eat the water spirit's egg on the day of hatching. Nayug, for sure, is one strange, strange world.
Speaking of strangeness among worlds, what Tanda saw when he performed a soul call on Saya was interesting. The two worlds were colliding. The scenery was amazing, but its intriguing that Sagu is so oblivious to what goes on in Nayug, whereas Nayug is in direct collision with Sagu. I wonder also...what sort of creatures exist in Nayug? Tanda didn't really explore Nayug. A few minutes of marvelling at the world and he returned to the task at hand. It's also interesting that Saya's soul was able to leave her body in the first place. No matter how much one wills it, is it really possible to shut oneself out of one's own body?
If it were, I wonder if it wouldn't have happened to me already. Or is that just death?
