So I sorta did a bad thing and bought that new Sqeenix game for the DS, because I heard it was actually good.

Yeah, I really should have waited a few days, because I ended up playing that instead of working on one of my finals. NO WORRIES, though. I just showed up to class late, but with finished work. It all boiled down to a time-management issue (I honestly thought I would be able to print and paste it all a lot faster than that) which seems to be a trademark fluke of all graphic designers (or so everyone keeps saying), so I'll write it off as a genetic defect for now and...maybe work on it later.

Despite the natural side effect, I have to admit that this game is pretty damn good. The graphics absolutely shocked me at the very beginning and I really am surprised that the storyline twisted as much as it did. I honestly couldn't figure out how everything was going to get resolved. Sure there's that usual "good guys won" thing and a little trip down amnesia lane, but all of the little details and enemies were beyond my comprehension.

Also, the main character was a whiny little f** at the beginning, and I found that to be enjoyable. Most likely because he ended up getting so much s**t thrown in his face for it. Each character has some of the obvious flaws required, but Squeenix totally made them believable and some of them really grew on me as things progressed.

In fact, a majority of the characters started out as irritating little ********, but I found them tolerable because each of them were completely deserving of the first few s**t-pies and quickly shaped up before they were forced to ingest all the excrement in Texas.

But here's an interesting tid-bit. It had absolutely nothing to do with Kingdom Hearts. I could have sworn I heard some rumors a while back about this being some sort of precursor, but there was absolutely no connection to the KH series (except for some of that spikey hair). Granted, Some of the characters tend to really remind you of a mixture of personalities from KH, but besides that, it was basically a completely different universe.

Oh, and the little monsters are pretty fun, too. They're called Noise, and they skip about the realm of thoughts, occasionally haunting people and scrambling up their mind to the point that they can't think straight. One fun part is that they're usually hiding as symbols that are very reminiscent to graffiti. What's even cooler is that their physical forms are pretty weird. They usually look like some sort of animal or monster, but tend to fade-out into skeletal-graffiti-ish marks about halfway down, which is just the dog's bollux, man.

Although, the fact that the first round of Noise that tried to kill me looked like adorable little frogs is TOTALLY not why I like them...totally...but they were cute

AS A SIDE NOTE, I'd also like to say that I have only one day of class left for this quarter, and I plan on getting wasted celebrating at least a little bit. After that, I have a one-week break before the next quarter, so I'd love to hang out and wind down with anyone who has the time.
