Vacation Bible School continues to be exhausting, but today wasn't as bad. Still, I feel like I'm not really needed to help out. My parents can teach the words on their own and my little sister has taken over my old job of teaching the hand motions to the songs. What's the point of me going if I have nothing to do?

Day 4 without Royal....it seems to be harder for me when I know I won't see him. There's really no way for me to hope that I'll be able to talk to him. Anyways, I was thinking about him last night and this poem practically popped into my head, fully written. It's one of the longest I've ever written. I'm still working on a title for it, but here's the unrevised version.

I remember when we first met
So many months ago.
It seems like only yesterday.
Can it have been so long?

The first time you asked me out.
You were so hesitant.
When you finally had to courage to ask,
I said yes.

And then, one week later,
I selfishly broke both our hearts.
I was not ready, I told myself.
Truth or lie, I am still not sure.

The months passed, swift and sure.
We were friends...no, we were more.
Lacking only the official title
Of a dating couple.

And then, it happened again.
You were hesitant, I waited.
You asked, I said yes.
We were together again.

It was my birthday, one of the worst.
Your sister told me things,
Things that broke my heart.
We were ruined once again.

A few days later, the truth came out.
Lies, lies, it was all lies.
But still, I had been hurt.
It could not be the same.

Time passes, as swift as before.
We were separated. You, with another girl,
And I, hurt deeply.
We gave each other space.

The other girl was heartless, cruel.
I missed you too much.
Being apart didn’t work out.
We found that out the hard way.

You did some thinking, both silent and aloud.
This time, you did not hesitate.
You asked, and I said yes.
There was nothing else I could say.

We are both committed, you and I.
We learned our lesson.
This time, we will stay with each other.
Together ‘til the end.


Really long, huh? I'm going to work on it some more to make sure it's as good as it can be before I send it to him.

My bro's going to take me to the library soon. I can't wait.
