Sometimes I wonder why I like to collect signs - but rather than come up with something abstract, I think I will just settle on the fact that I simply like them. I like the idea of someone taking time out for me to do something for me. It would be no different than someone wanting to offer a tip to a performer, they are entertained, thus feel compelled to offer something in return for the enjoyment they got.
I have paid a lot of gold for signs, which doesn't bother me nearly as much as when I buy an item that turns out to look bad. This feels like more of an investment. If I had real money or something else to offer, I would offer that for signs I think. Right now the only things I have to offer are gold on Gaia, Neopoints on Neopets and gold on Ultima Online. I would definately buy signs using any of those currencies.
