It seems many people actually have no idea what the difference is. Its sad, as they waste their time contacting me when there are better ways to do things.
FYI: I will be using MA instead of Moderator Assistant, as MA saves time.
MA's are not Moderators! Just like an Executive's Assistant is technically not an Executive.
MA's have nothing to do with Terms of Service violations. So if someone is spamming, flaming, trolling, posting porn, being abusive, hacked you, scammed you or did anything else to make you unhappy, I can't do anything about it!

Moderator Assistants (formerly "Helpers" wink Responsible for thread moves only in specific forums they are assigned to Moderator Assistants DO NOT assist users with Terms of Service violations.
What can I do? I can move misplaced threads (As long as they don't violate the TOS) out of certain forums. That's it. The forum depends on what I'm assigned to, and personally its the GD, Q&A and SF. Anything else, sorry tough luck.
So please don't PM a MA to find out why you were banned. We can't do anything other than direct you to talk to an online Moderator.
EDIT: ok, yes when I posted this I was just a MA. Now I'm a SM, but it still rings true.
