So I saw this in the ED, and honestly it annoyed me. Yeah, that's a no-brainer, generally the ED is the place you go if you want to be annoyed.

Anyway, it boiled down to "My minority is better, your minority doesn't deserve anything because you haven't publicy sufferd as much". Now, if you knew the specific minorities in that example, it would make sense.

Basically the OP felt that people didn't have a right to voice their complaints about discrimination, because they were discriminated against even more. Who was discriminated against more is completely debateable, but that isn't the point. It was the persons attitude, and it was insulting.

He was turning around and doing exactly what the people who do discriminate do, discriminate against other people who are different.

Discrimination is horrible, and it shouldn't be acceptable for anyone. Just because you were discriminated against doesn't give you the right to tell people who are also discriminate against to stop whining and you had it worse.

In fact, those people are worse than the people who do discriminate. Because they're hypocritical. Its all "stop discriminating on me!" on one hand, but on the other hand its "but I can discriminate against other minorities".


All or nothing. You can't demand to not be discriminated against and then go ahead and say someone else can't make the same demand.



Obviously I've not mentioned any thread, people or minorities. I just had to say something here, this place where I can express my opinion, about the situation.
