note: The chapter that was originally RPed over AIM - as I mentioned earlier was longer for humor reasons. The author of Kassie, Erich and Sophia agreed with me to cut it off in order to keep clarity...if anyone would like to see the whole uneditied text from that specific chapter PM me or leave a comment about it.
In other news...I was unable to contact the author of Erich (and Kassie and Sophia) to double check on some facts for the beginning of chapter 6...so it ended up like this.... sweatdrop sweatdrop

Chapter 7
"Look! It's a fox isn't it cute?"
I look at the small ball of fur in someone's hands
"hmm...what's your name anyway?"
My gaze shifts to the ground "...a...name...?"
"I'll call you Kao! Just for now~"
I nodded...
but I never knew at who...
nor if they were talking to me...
I slowly opened my eyes and noticed Sophia looking at me rather displeasingly. I looked farther into the distance and saw Erich sitting a little distance away...
I tried to move then finally realized someone next to me was casting a healing spell on me.
It was Kassandra.
I jerk my arm slightly away from her and she stops. I hear Sophia hiss something at me...my senses slowly recovered and I was able to hear what came next...
"That's it! I had it with you and Erich's stubbornness and rudeness, I can't believe such highly respectable people in Falena can be so devious, it almost sickens me." Kassandra says as she slowly stands up to face Sophia.
"If Erich was your brother you would hate him as much as I do! He hurt my brother and cheated in the duel! I admit I was a little cruel back in Garan at what I said but he is being disrespectful to you, avoiding your spells of healing." Sophia replies back to Kassandra in a slightly angry tone. I look off in the distance towards Erich -but he does not seem to move. I look back up towards Kassandra and see her sad eyes looking down at me...A sudden pain runs through my chest and I quickly look away into the distance.
what's wrong with me.........Kao...?
Sophia happily takes the opportunity to mock me "You see! He's so disrespectful. You're my good friend and I see how much he hurts your feelings when he avoids your healing spells. A person who hurts my brother and my friend deserve a lot more then pain"
A image flashes through my head...a fire...screaming...crying...blood...
Remembering it...I mumble under my breath "Go ahead and kill me.........maybe then......I'll see him again......"
Erich gets up now and with his back still towards me replies coldly "Be careful what you wish for buddy..." No one ceases to say anymore as the group gets up and walks on...with no other better choice...I follow...
We finally reach Kouan and Sophia cries out overjoyed "WE MADE IT TO KOUAN and NO MONSTERS!!! YEAH!!!!!" Kassandra just as overjoyed chimed in "W00T!!! WE SHOULD PARTY!!"
I ignore them and walk over to the nearest tree and sit under it, the small fox that continued to follow me the whole time also walked over to the tree with me and sat right next to my leg.
"You guys wait with Narase as I go make reservations at the Hotel, Erich says as he runs off quickly into the town. "Wait Erich I'll go with you" Sophia hollers out as she runs after him leaving me and Kassandra behind.
She walks over to me and also sits down. After a moment off silence I managed to say to her "...I'm sorry..." I sat there staring at the blades of grass for a long time when finally she answers back "Um...it's ok...don't listen to what Sophia's been saying. She's really sweet and kind...and Erich well...it will take him some time but he will forgive you some day.
I let my head fall back onto the tree, close my eyes, and smiled a little "I'm used to doing everything myself...been like that for a very long time..." I slowly opened my eyes again and looked up at the branches in the tree. And beyond that...the soft clouds in the everlasting sky...
"Well...my mother always told me to find the goodness in people...Honestly I had a crush on Erich when I first met him, that's why I ditched my mission to help him but now I'm just in it for the adventure. Besides...I have no chance with Erich...he is engaged..."
My mind starts to wander and I recall back to the image that flashed through my mind...the fire...the screaming......a crying face......
is it true......if I die will I really see him again...?
I start to doze off again when I hear someone yell my name and I fall over hitting me head onto the ground
"AGAIN?!? Right when we're about to dine" I hear Sophia exclaim annoyingly. "Sophia, use your rune, the doctors might be closed at this time of night..." Kassandra says
I stand back up quickly and reply to them "oh no I'm ok..."
Sophia was holding her staff towards then pulls it back "oh...ok then...no point in wasting a spell. LET'S GO EAT!!!"
All three of them starting running towards the hotel happily while I followed behind them...suddenly I hear someone whisper something in the air..."Kusanar'a Zelsatu" it said..."Kusanar'a Zelsatu"......I see the fox at my feet and bend down to pick it up. I take one last look around and turn back towards the inn to follow the others...
Inside the inn I sat at the table quietly as everyone else comtinues to eat, I wasn't one to eat much at meals...
"C'mon Narase enjoy the food, there is plenty of it in this fine establishment" Erich says to me, noticing my quietness. "Erm...that's ok...I always eat little..." I reply back to him slightly sounding embarrassed. He gave me an odd look then said "well more for me then eh."
"This fried chicken tastes really good, has a nice country taste"
"I am enjoying this potato salad. Narase have some beef stew, it's delicious."
"No no...that's ok Kassandra...I'm already full"
Erich bangs his fist on the table and says to me "Bah!, You're too thin, you need more muscle and to get muscle you need nutritious food"
Kassandra let's out a laugh "What a surprise~ Erich is concerned for Narase~"
Erich appears to get uneasy and replies back to her "Don't make me look corney Kassie, I just think he looks too puny that's all."
I smile and chime in with the conversation "I've always leaned toward more brains than brawn anyway" and then I silently add "unlike some people..."
Erich stand up with his face slightly flushed red with anger "WHAT!! Unlike YOU I am both the combination of brains AND brawns! I train regularly with my sword and lift weights. I have studied in the St. Helens Sorcery Academy for over a decade. I know more rune knowledge than a pathetic commoner knows!"
I dodge his overused 'pathetic commoner' insult and answer back "...did I say I was talking about YOU?"
His face starts to regain it's color a little and he sits back down "...well you implied that, don't play dumb with me again like you did in Rikon. You know what...now that you ARE here...you never answered my question." I casually answer back to him "question...? Sorry...I never heard your question"
This time it was Sophia who stood up "WHAT?!?! WHY YOU RUDE LITTLE- My brother asked you in Rikon if you knew anything about the disappearance of our parents. However YOU wanted to act like a SMARTASS!"
Kassandra tugs on Sophias shirt and says to her "Sophia...be lady-like...we are in a public classy place..." Noticing the staring eyes from other people, she slowly sits back down still glaring at me.
With that I tried to straighten out the misunderstanding they had apparently fallen into with me..."No seriously...I didn't hear the question first of all I was too occupied looking at the runes and secondly Erich talked real fast.
Sophia somehow getting more annoyed because of my explanation snaps back at me "UGH! I just said it right now and you didn't hear it??? Ok listen REALLLL GOOD. Do YOU know anything about my parent's disappearance?? My brother and I have been searching for them for the past several weeks."
I eye both of them and think to myself dang...these two ARE idiots... then explain it to them "I don't even know you three...how would I know your parents...unless they're like Erich here and you assumed I'd notice someone like that" Erich drops his gaze apologetically and replies "Well...you were suspicious and you arrived in town the same time my parents went missing..." He paused a moment to sort his thoughts and continued "I guess...in a way I was on the aggressive end...bandist attacked us on the way to Rikon and I was angered that one almost killed Kasandra so when we first met you I was already pissed off..."
"If I had arrived the same time your parents went missing and really did take them then wouldn't they obviously have been with me? Hm?" I asked him rhetorically.
He started to sound more and more embarrassed "I wasn't thinking straight...I was angry at what the bandits tried to do to Kassandra...My mind was convinced that everyone in this country were bad...and I just snapped...basically I needed to take my anger out on someone"
Kassandra tried to re-assure Erich and said to him "But you and Sophia saved me. I'm fine Erich, unhurt."
The atmosphere at the table was getting moody so I raised a finger at Erich and jokingly said to Sophia and Kassandra "Here kids, is an example of Brawn overpowering Brains"
He got mad at me in an instant and started to yell at me "WHAT!!!! I am trying to be civil and trying to level with you here on common grounds and you go and insult me! BOY! If you want insults let me start by saying where the hell di you buy or steal those rags for clothes!"
My mission accomplished I grabbed the little fox -who was sitting on my lap the whole time- and ran out the door hollering back at him "AHAHAHAHA!!!! I HIT THE JACKPOT! C'mon little fox! We sleep outside tonight~!"
It was nice and cool outside...I headed back to the tree I was leaning on earlier and jump up into it's branches and found a nice spot to sleep. I hold up the fox into the air and say to it "hmm...I've been thinking about it for awhile...and I guess I'll have to name you......I'll name you...Kirai! How's that?"
It coos at me happily and I smile back at it. I put it on a neighboring branch making sure it wouldn't fall off easily and I closed my eyes and fell asleep for the night.

Sometime during the night I was awaken by someone...someone calling me...I look around seeing no one but still...
...something feels strange...I hear the voice again...it is louder when I face the south...it is only murmuring but the one thing, the one phrase I can hear it say, over and over again is 'Kusanar'a Zelsatu'...twilight of conciousness
It is so hynotic...the voices...it controls me...is it only talking to me? But why...why me? Why am I attracted so by it...?
Without thinking I take out my 2nd most favorite rune; the Blinking rune and teleport a distance aways from Kouan.
...it is calling out to me... I continue to walk my heart pounds against my chest, the adrenaline rushes through my body.
I have a bad feeling but I can't stop myself...it is calling...calling me.
Finally I regain control from the weird hypnosis...and realize where I am...what I had done. I teleported away from Kouan...apparently very close to the Great Forest...I had left them behind and Kirai too...
I look down at my right arm...the arm brace gives off a glow and I am shocked into paralysis...how...how could...how come it's glowing??? I slowly raise my arm and stare at it...before I know it my surroundings warp and change. I can't drop my gaze from my arm. Finally the surroundings stop changing and I find myself in the middle of the Great Forest. A sudden surge of power from out of nowhere hits me straight on and knocks me off my feet. I land on my back. When I try to get up I can not move...as if something invisible is pushing me down into the ground. No...as if something is digging into me into my skin...digging right through me...as it does I feel a burning feeling where it digs into me. The feeling spreads the pain grows...not only do I feel the outside of me burn but my insides do to...burning into me...into my soul. It becomes too much to bear...I scream but there is no sound. I feel myself become lost, I lose control of my body not knowing if my legs and arms are still there or if it has been burned away...my vision slowly fades I can do nothing...finally I lose my sight...everything...becomes black.
I feel a slight nothingness...no...there is something there...a slight coldness...it is faint...in my mind it continues to linger even though my soul floats on into a nothingness ...
"Watch out!!!" ...I do not move something keeps me from moving...
"Fire...it is commonly used as a symbol of life..."
'he' reaches out to me...no I reach out to 'him'

"ahhhh!!!!" ...I had held back...why

two different trails of blood seep down...joining in harmony.

He turns around and faces me...smiles at me..."right Narase?"
I shyly smile back...
