I finally thought up a title for this story! Stone-Shed Tears If you like it, please tell me! Now back to our story!
Machines formed columns that lined up a pathway in the purely white room. Keru and Niina's heels clacked against the stone marble of the floor,a nd they looked around.
"Well," Keru said, quite loudly, trying to be heard over the loud noises of the moving machines, "I'm sure an Interior Designist would love this place!"
"Quite a blank canvas." Niina replied.
THe two continued, walking through the noisy room towards the white door at the other end. It was too bad that it was so noisy, because then, if it wasn't, they might have heard the ball whistling through the air.
It landed right behind them, scraping against the metal of Niina's boots a little, and they spun around. The ball was huge and metal, and was attached to a chain, which was attached to a man.
The man was huge, standing well over six feet, and full of muscle. His bare chest was covered in old scars, and his black pants were somewhat worn and tired looking. A mess of black hair fell from his head to his shoulders, and he had that stupid look in his face that only stupid people have.
"Dah... oops.. I missed... Don' worry, I'll gey yuh nest tim'..." His speech was as stupid as his looks, and his words slurred together. He pulled on the chain and the ball came out of the floor and back into his hand.
Niina and Keru looked at him, backing towards the door. He may have been stupid, but he had tons of muscle, and if they were hit with that ball, they'd be dead. It was death on a chain.
Then the ball came towards them again, and before nay of them realized it, Niina had drawn her sword, and had sliced the ball cleanly in half, the two sides spinning off the different walls to explode in rocky fury. The man stood there, stupefied, and Niina slowly stood up to her full height.
Winds seemed to whip around her, and her eyes held a coldness that only death can bring. "I don't want to have to kill you." she said, not loudly, but it was still loud enough to be heard over the machines. She raised her sword to point at the man. "But if you don't let us through the door, I will."
The man snorted, saying, "Yuh serus? I wudn' be llowed to duh tha-" He stopped suddenly, and his upper body hung over, though he was still standing. When he did that, Niina was able to see a massive lump on the back of his head, and Keru on his back, the hilt of his dagger still pointing towards his head. Keru slid off the man, then walked back to Niina.
"How'd you do that?" she asked.
"I'm a thief." he said, walking over to the door to inspect it. "I am quite good at sneaking around. Damn... the doors locked." Niina turned around, sheathing her sword, as Keru pulled out another, smaller, knife. Slowly, carefully, he inserted it into the lock, jiggled it a bit, then heard a squelching sound. THen a popping sound, as the door swung open, hitting Keru in the face.
"Merner... grefer... effin' sonnava-"
"Let's go!" Niina said, laughing. She pulled Keru up, took his knife out of the lock, and off they went, into the next room.
I'm too lazy to proofread it right now, but I'll do that later.
