To the sisters who are not connected to me by kinship but are anything but distant, the wingless angels who wipe away my tears, the shovels that smack me back to reality...
To my dearest friends who never cease to brighten up my days,

Time-
It is irritating and biased.

When life is dull and boring, it takes what seems to be centuries for the hourglass' grains of sand to make their descent. But when life is filled with excitement you can clearly hear the sound of the grains rapidly pouring away.

Time-
It is full of mystery.

I still find it surreal that it's been almost sixteen years since the day I was brought into this world. Sixteen years.
Learning to tie my shoes, to read, to count...
It feels like I've learned all these basic tasks just days ago.
It feels like I've met all of you not too long ago.

Time-
It radiates beauty.

I've met some of you back in the days of child-like innocence. And I've met some of you while entering the age of reason. But either way, I consider those respective meetings precious. I feel like we were destined to cross each others paths; that it was written in the stars somewhere in the vast sky; that it was part of God's outline for a certain chapter of our lives.

Time-
It is very complex.

Oh, how I remember those days...
Days that we took for granted.
Days where we weren't aware of the hourglass and it's sand, rapidly pouring away.

Laughter.
Many of those days were filled with melodious giggles and guffaws that tickled my eardrums. I have spent many of my most fun-filled memories with all of you; memories that cannot be erased no matter how fast the hands of time tick.

Tears.
Many of those days were gloomy ones as well. I was able to reveal my vulnerable side to all of you. But you didn't criticize me or take advantage of me. Instead, you gave me a shoulder to cry on and a comforting hand to hold.

Pain.
Many of those days were scarred and filled with heart ache. We've all experienced it. The pain of fighting with a loved one, the pain of losing a loved one. My burdens were your burdens and yours were mine. It was how you all helped me overcome the hurting and obstacles that amazed me most.

Time-
It knows no bounds.

Our friendship has gone through so much. From petty arguments to dysfunctional families and even death. But it was these hardships that made our bond stronger. I have to admit that there were times where I felt envious of you all because many of you were so ahead in your game while I am still so far behind. But I want you to know that your happiness is my happiness. You just don't know how a smile on one of your faces lightens up a rather dark, sad day and instantly erases many of my worries.

Time-
It is frightening.

Many of you are entering a whole new world, discovering new things, unfolding new chapters. Sometimes I feel like certain events are just happening too fast and that maturity and unwanted knowledge are being forced into our systems... If you blinked, you'd miss something important.

Time-
It is irritating.
It is full of mystery.
It radiates beauty.
It knows no bounds.
It is frightening.
But most of all...
It gives us hope.

As you enter the portals of the world of the unknown, you mustn't be afraid to make mistakes. You shouldn't bring yourselves down for committing said mistakes. You learn from them, they make you stronger, and you ultimately become better people. You all have made me realize that, whether you are aware of it or not. I thank all of you so much for the wonderful memories and life lessons you have stuffed into my tiny head. Each and every one of you holds a special place in my heart. I love all of you so very much and I'm so proud of all of you!

It would be nice if it could to slow down a bit, but as the hourglass spills more of its contents, more wonderful memories are created. We will eventually find our way through this road of self-discovery. Together.

We are still conquering one of Life's [and Time's] greatest challenges: growing up.
