Return to the Teleportation HQ

There was some murmuring and yelling from behind, though I did my best to pay no attention to them and instead found myself absorbed, thinking about runes...


Before I knew it I felt a cold presence on my back and slightly turned my head back around seeing a sword pointing ever so close to me...too close, I look up towards the owner of the sword and asked the man "um...may I help you?"

The man glares at me some more and barks back "Heh you can play innocent all you want boy, who are you and where did you come from?!? I find it odd for a teenage boy to stay in his room for weeks!!!"
Apparently I must've taken one of my oddly longer naps then usual without me realizing it...but in the past when I've slept that long more often then not people would come in to my room and see what?s wrong with me?mistaking me for dead or diseased. Either that or they would start begging for mercy from me. Well...now that I think about it, the later has only happened to me once in this particular village that was being attacked by monsters when I had awoken....

I've always wondered about that incident...did I just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, where the people had been driven to insanity by the monsters and they begged any who passed by for mercy...or was there something special about the inhabitants of that small nearly hidden village...could they see something that others could not?

I shake off the thought and notice the smaller girl of the three pull on the man?s arm and whisper to him "Erich...please you're scaring me,"
I turn back towards the counter sighing to myself...clearly this Erich seemed like a stubborn fool...it'd be a waste of energy to try to explain anything to him...hopefully any moment the girls would pull him out of there. I reply casually back "...so why would you care what I do...hm?"

I must've given a bad reply because he immediately snapped back at me "Don't ignore me you little b*****d peasant!! You better tell me anything you know about a Falenian couple going missing not to long ago!! If not I will splatter your head against the counter!!!!!! "

I sense movement from behind and pull out my sword as a reflex and block Erich's advancing sword. His strong swing pushes me back slightly but at the last moment I use the momentum to jump away from the counter. I would feel so sorry for the runemistress if this Erich breaks the rune case. I look back towards Erich and he follows my movement towards the outside of the shop good...come outside so we don't damage the shop?

Erich smirks at me and says "Ahh so you wish to take me on you little peasant, your sword seems of quality I hope your skills are as good as your blade."
"peasant"? so he must be from a rich family eh? A peasant would never use that term


I see the younger girl make a movement towards Erich and exclaims to him in a seemingly disappointed tone "Don't start a fight with the cute boy please Erich, we can discuss this in a civilized way"

CUTE?!? I think to myself...all my life I've been called everything from sneaky to straightforward to evil to depressed...but cute...that was a first...
Still amused that the word had for the first time come out in a situation like this I put away my sword, let out a sigh and start to walk away...under my breath I mumur to no one in particular "y'know...I don't wanna play with you anymore"

Apparently the boy had much better hearing then I thought...either that or I misjudged his attention span. For he flipped right back around and swiftly placed the sword back near my neck then snaps at me "Like hell if I'm going to let you leave me waiting for you, now you better answer me fast as in now, or I hack off your head!! "

looks like he won't let me just waltz on outI stick both my hand into my pockets and both hands respectively reach into small pouches I keep inside my pocket and fingered around looking for the particular runes I needed. Meanwhile the older girl starts to speak with this Erich fellow.

"Erich you leave him alone he didn't call for-" before she finished her sentence I had found what I was looking for, quickly recited the chant in my mind and teleported to the other side of the room. All three of them stared in awe as I grinned at them innocently and waved at them with my right hand still holding the rune in my hand-yet hidden from their view.

My left hand also finds the other rune I was looking for and I also remove it from my pocket.

I look over at Erich's face and see him showing a dumbfounded expression for a minute or so then shaking his head he looks back up at me and snaps at me again "You have me speechless boy, your magic is impressive which makes you even more suspicious, you better stop playing around, beating around the bush, I want my question answered now!!"
And with that he starts chanting a spell-one that I recognized as a lightning rune spell. Although, he was chanting the spell itself ever so slowly...I guess compared to a person like me...who spends most of the day and night training with runes...he seemed inexperienced.

I teleported myself again out of the store so that it wouldn't be damaged and shortly after quickly chanted and cast an Angry Blow lightning spell at Erich to stop his own chanting. He easily dodged my spell to my surprise and laughed at me "That was pathetic, here's real Lightning magic for you, brat! I call forth the power of Bolts of Wrath smite my foe, to pieces!!"

I admit...I underestimated him, I thought he was taking all that time chanting just to cast a level 1 spell, but to my surprise it was a level 3 spell. It took me by surprise and I dodged...not in time to dodge completely. I fall to my knees on the ground and cringe at the pain in my right arm. I hear Erich laugh at me from afar and exclaim to me "Quit being a coward and fight me head on, I won't allow you to escape!"

I look back at him annoyed that some random kid like him out of the blue would attack me when I had done nothing wrong and now he was practically saying I was HIS PREY?!? ...I hated his attitude...I had to get away from him, before his arrogance took me down with him
I ran through the options in my head several times and could think of only one quick and easy solution...
So be it...
I slipped the rune I was holding back in my left hand back in my pocket, stood up, faced him and stood my ground all the while he continued to smirk at me...the very look of it starting to fuel my rage. As I tried to maintain control I calmly replied back at him "hmph...you've managed to hurt me...you've really passed the line, take this!!!"

I closed my eyes and quickly chanted the spell in my mind...rapidly my head grew hot...grew dizzy then suddenly the heat in my forehead imploded and turned cold, ice cold. I slowly opened my eyes and both saw and felt the energy emerging from my forehead give off a pale blue light. The energy slowly pushed back my head as if a large hand was pushing my forehead to make me fall over.

Before I was pushed back anymore I raised my open left hand towards Erich all the while monsters appeared, by my side, out of thin air- it was a great sight to see I admit- and I could tell Erich and his crew were watching with awe. Finally starting to feel exhausted I yell out under my breath "OPEN GATE!!!!!"

The monsters all turn toward the direction my left hand faced and charged at Erich without hesitation, in the corner of my eye I notice the little girl that came in with Erich tried to quickly cast Protect Mist but I knew she had started the chanting too late for the spell itself to be cast on time. I turn back and watch as the monsters charge, tackle, and...well...bring him lots of pain...

"UGHHHHH! AHHH!!!!?" He screams as he flies back into the shop's rune display case. It's glass shattering everywhere, the runes trickling out of the case like water does over a dam that has suddenly given way.

The older girl let's out a gasp and runs to the boys side "ERICH!!!!!!!!"
I fall onto my knees and let out a sigh " 'ch'...I came out here so the shop wouldn't get destroyed and yet he still flies back into it.
I see Erich, with the help of the older girl struggle to sit up then weakly manage to say to me "That...ugh...that rune...it's the BLUE GATE!!!"

The younger girl runs up to Erich and says to him soothingly "Nevermind that, Water Rune I call forth Kindness drops on Erich and this stranger"

I look at her greatly surprised and intentionally move out of the way of her spell...I was not one to accept help like that freely...such an act of kindness...for me...it was unheard of...there was always a catch...or at least that's what I had learned from experience all my life

I slowly stand back up again and brush myself off...I did not want them to think I was in a sorry state...at least not anywhere near the boy's state. "hmph...I don't need you to heal me...I can do it myself." I stated as plainly as I could as I started to turn around and walk away.

I guess it still came out sounding really cold because the older girl got up and took a step towards me and started to yell out "How dare you peasant! Kassandra healed you out of kindness and you treat her with disrespect!!"

Kassandra...that was her name...I took a quick glance back and noticed that her face slightly flushed red. I thought about saying something but decided not to. I had not the energy for another fight because of a misunderstood statement. Instead I just stood there looking the other way...dazzled...I couldn't think of anything at the moment...I felt a little light-headed...

Finally I hear Erich moving about behind me. Then he yells at me with more energy then he had before "wait...who are you?"
I look back over my shoulder to see him barely standing, I turn back around and wonder if I should answer him or not. It wouldn't make a difference I guess...

"I am no peasant...my name is Narase" I reply back to him and holding onto my right hand-still holding the blinking rune-I teleport myself away from them...
