The young man stood terrified as he stared at the creature before him, his body shaking violently. The creature was at least 6 foot tall, and around 250 pounds. The horrific animal had the fur covered body of a young human male, slender lean torso, larger hips and thighs meant for running at high speeds, its hand and feet were purposely larger, meaning the creature had once been a teenage boy, maybe even his age.... The creature grinned at him, wolf ears twitching about at the sound of the human's ragged breathing from his futile running. Its teeth were revealed by curling leathery black lips; it was a gruesome smile on its wolf face. Orange red eyes glowing in the dark stared lustfully at him. The youth was scared of the look he was receiving, what could it mean? He fell as his knees gave out, and landing on his rear, scooted back against the alley wall. As the creature approached its large bushy black tail, matching the long human-like hair from its head, swept back and forward almost playfully. Its fur human legs sported two large wolf feet, the wicked claws clicking on the pavement like a dog on hardwood floor. A long slick tongue coming out to wet leathery dry lips.... but not human, not normal... The creature came close, and bent onto his haunches his muzzle inches away from the boy’s head. He closed his eyes in terror, his rasping breath turned into whimpers. He was going to die, and the wolf was going to eat him! “Oh, God... no, please... God!” he whispered. The wolf stopped a sniffing noise came from him. The boy jumped at a thick bark-like laugh. “There is no God.” The wolf replied in a grated voice, low and strangely young sounding, arrogant and beastal. The boy just glared at him, despite his terrror at the bipedal, and now talking, wolf. “How do... do you know that? God!” he breathed. The wolf sneered, its large canines came into veiw. “Do you think God would allow something like me to exist? Think about it human, if your mind is not so rattled with fear.” At this the wolf sat back. “I’m not going to eat you, fool.” He huffed, “Don’t you ever watch national geographic? Wolves eat elk, and other such game. Humans make dull game.” He said waving a clawed hand about. Creatures like you are for kicks and giggles only, and you whine and cry when we make to eat you. Not to mention you stare at us when we try. Disturbing, really.” He said with a grimace of disgust. For some reason the boy grew flustered at this. “Well, excuse me if I’m not up to your standards! I wasn’t made for monster food!” he muttered. The lupine stared at him. “Monster? I guess that’s appropriate, isn’t it? Eh.” He said dismissively. “But I have to say, you ran very far... in track or something?” the boy raised an eyebrow at this. “Yeah, last year as a senior, I was alwa.... I can’t believe this!” he cried, startling his strange companion. “What?” he said, cocking his head. The boy stared a moment, finding it creepy how much he looked like a dog when he did that. “I’m talking to you! To a--a... um, what are you anyway?” He asked mid-sentence. The wolf cocked his head in the opposite direction. “A lycanthrope, were wolf, wolf man, two-legged wolf, wolf demon, Lycan, Lupine... whatever you wish. Even monster.” He shrugged, he really had no idea. “what’s your name kid?” he asked suddenly. The boy blinked. “Luke. Luke Harvey... and you-” Luke said hesistantly. “Xinaru.” He spoke, cutting him off. “Weelll, this has been terrifing, and weird. I have to go home now.” He said standing up and almost took one step away. A hoarse laugh stopped him as well as a clawed hand gripping his arm. “I don’t think so. In fact you would make nice company for some other time. After all even the insane grow lonely.” Xinaru grinned, white teeth glittering in the pale lamplight from the street. Luke cried out, trying to squirm out of his grasp. “You can’t do this!” “Oh really? And what’s going to stop me? Your human police?” he laughed. “Oh hurry! There’s a huge wolf man dragging me off for torturous conversation! Mm, hmm, sure kid, you do that. We’ll see how that works out for you. In the meantime, I think you’ll like my little cave, it’s quite roomy.” Xinaru grabbed the struggling boy and threw him over his shoulder, before leaping high into the air, using his claws to climb up the fire escapes. Once he was on the top of the building with the hollering youth he began to leap across them, disappearing into the night.
