I looked up onto Cian’s grey eyes, raised my hand and placed it on his cheek. He closed his eyes and pressed his face against my hand. I smiled a little and let out a pathetic chuckle. His grin came onto his face and I smiled wider.
He turned his head and kissed the palm of my hand tenderly, holding it in his big, warm hand as he did that. No matter what he didor how he did it, it made me blush.
Damn you– well, you know that by now...
“I never get tired of that...” he smiled. I looked at him for a second in surprise. “The way you blush whenever I do something affectionate.” Great. My blush deepened. He laughed as I tried to figure out what to do with myself and he pulled me into a hug. “Don’t hide it. It's cute. Plus, I’ve seen your past, you’re not used to this kind of thing. I know that I'm the first guy to get to do things like this and I understand. Just trust me. I won’t hurt you.”
“I know.” I gently whispered back. I could feel him stiffen for a second before tightening his grip on me oh so slightly and nuzzled his face into my neck.
Yay! I said something that made him happy!
Cian pulled back from the hug, after kissing my neck gently, and placed a light kiss on my lips before he took my hands and helped me up. I stood shakily, my stomach still a little tight from that wonderful bathroom experience a few minutes ago. He lead me over to the bed and tucked me in under the covers. Before he left the room to get me something to eat and drink, he kissed my forehead. Once again “Bubbly” played inside my head. I smiled as the door clicked shut.
So. Now I had a little time to think. I wasn’t afraid of Cian because I trust him with my life. That had been proven when he didn't kill me after he had found out that I had been sent to spy on him and...'cause he told me that he loved me. Check. I hate Nate because he has made me into a kind of slave that he could kill in an instant. He couldn't be trusted and he was still holding information from me. I could feel it. Check. So Cian=good and Nate=goddamn b*****d, no good sonofab*tch. Ha I said it. Or thought it. The thought of that burning sensation coming back again and Nate taking complete control of me made me shiver. He could do anything to me, anyth– oh God. Even that. Ew. Would he ever do that?
I shivered again under the thick comforter. I wonder what Nate looks like when he’s as angry as Cian was. Scarier, maybe. But I know that Cian could scare the...socks...off of Nate.
I smiled and thought of the pain Nate was in at that moment. Ava had said that he had gotten off worse than Cian and remembering what Cian had looked like that night...well it made me think about what could be worse. And I smiled thinking that Nate was getting what he deserved right then and there.
Cian was out and about with not a scratch on him and Nate was probably bed-ridden I think I did an evil laugh at that point, but it was cut short by Cian entering the room with a tray of food. Omygawd. Pancakes! Oh! I hadn’t had those in forever!
Well it made sense since he now knew everything about me now after he had viewed my memories. That thought made me pout. I felt like I knew him, but I didn’t really know him. I wonder...
“Hey Cian?”
“Yeah?” he laid down next to me on the bed as he placed the tray over my legs and gave me his attention.
“Now that you know all about me...well...”
“You want to know my past too?” he finished for me.
I nodded meekly and looked up at him. Cian smiled and motioned for me to lean in towards him. He took my face into his hands and stared right into my eyes. That warm feeling from before entered me again but this time there were pictures that entered my mind they flashed past so fast I could barely register what they were, but I knew.
I knew everything about Cian as soon as the last picture flitted through my mind. From when he had been born to now.
I slumped against the pillows behind me. You would too if over two thousand years of information was just put into your mind. Yes that’s right. Two thousand years. I continued to stare into Cian’s eyes and he rubbed the back of his neck with a lop-sided smile on his face. It seemed like he didn't know what to say. Guess he had never had to show his entire past to a mortal girl who, in reality, only knew him for about six days.
“You’re...?”
“Two thousand? Yeah.” he gave a small laugh and dropped his hand to the bed.
I gave myself a small shake and put a fork full of pancake in my mouth. I kept a straight face as Cian watched me intently, waiting for me to say something mean. I swallowed and looked at him.
“Well.” He stared at me more intently. “That’s a big age difference.” His face began to fall. “...I guess I have a lot of catching up to do...” He looked up at me and I swear to God, he had puppy dog eyes. Well, I guess he could do that, but he could do it better than I’ve ever seen.
His mouth formed into one of those heart-stopping smiles that I loved as he took a strawberry off of my plate and popped it into his mouth.
"Don't worry about catching up, I like you the way you are."
