Okay so here is the deal...every since my physics class in which I wrote a thank you poem for my Chemistry teacher I have been in a poetic mood and a mood to write! This was the result...an inspiration from the movie "Possession."
"I cannot let you burn me up nor can I resist you. No mere human can stand in a fire and not be consumed."
Who will rise,
From our fire?
Who will gain,
From our desire?
What will become,
Of our hearts?
When we are aware,
That we weren't being smart?
In this promise,
We got lost.
And now to these demons,
We pay the cost.
The heavy price,
For our action,
And to our souls,
There shall never be satisfaction.
Were we blinded,
By this sin of love?
So determined,
That push came to shove?
Consumed by fire,
Caught in a flame,
And now we know,
That our stupidity's to blame.
And now what,
Will become of our wishes?
Will then be shattered,
Like fragile dishes?
We'll have to smile,
And go on living,
Because to this obession,
We just can't keep giving.
We love and learn,
To cope with time,
And realize,
That in a while we'll be fine.
But here's to exisiting,
To being in this state,
And here's to life,
For being so "great".
And we will march,
Completely ignorant,
Of our love,
Our living tyrannt.
Never forgetting,
This our fire,
But never living,
In this hopeless desire...
