Band! Now! I'm in one of my phases where I'm desperate to start a band. DESPERATE. It's bad....I just spent like an hour and a half watching behind the scene clips of Evanescence....they're pretty psycho when they're backstage. Sort of reminded me of us, except for as mostly guys..... sweatdrop Anyhow, I'm going crazy. We always say we will, but we don't. Because Claire refuses to learn bass, I've heard Zeta play guitar like, once, and Maya insists she's no good at violin (which is bullshit)....and I suppose none of us know what would happen with singing.....ANY of us could/would do that. Plus, we need a pianist....maybe Claire can do THAT and we can get another guitarist or two. The point is that this is depressing, that we've wanted this forever and never go for it. At least, I think it's depressing. I'm good enough at drums to be in a bad, I know I am! I'm not stunning, but I'm damn well good enough...... Anyhow. We're going to pick a song and learn it. I'm just letting you know. I'll try to find one with fairly simple parts to start out with.... And Maya, I'm warning you that the first one we do may not have violin because that's not in that many songs. But I shall try!

	Well, first of all, I kind of want to use an Evanescence song as our first way. I'm also considering strawberry gashes because the guitar part isn't too hard. But Evanescence has a lot more violin than some other bands, plus, if we ever get good enough to play our own music, all we have to do is write violin into it. I LOVE the sound of classical instruments like violin and piano combined with rocker sounds, like drums and guitar.

	All we need, then, is...Well, it seems like we've got everyone together. So, there's really not that much of a problem, except a time when everyone's available, and we need a sweet name. How 'bout Pip and the Expectations or Holden and the Caulfields? {The second one's from the Catcher in the Rye}. rofl

	What I don't want is for there to be like two people who do all the singing, because that's not fair and that's not cool. Who likes singing? Zoe, Emma, Maya....does Claire want to? I'm not sure about Zeta. Does she like to sing?

	Everyone likes to sing. Look, it'll be fun. We'll do background when we're not doing lead, and we can switch off songs, whoever has the best voice for the song. The problem is, I think Claire is really good at piano, and I think she seems like she wants to do that. So maybe we can borrow Alex to play bass? We shall see. Timing is a ******. Zeta, sweetie, no offense but you're ALWAYS ALWAYS busy. And we all have things going on, not just Zeta.... I'm thinking the first song might be better with like, only three instruments or something.....and then we can build on that.... sweatdrop** Planning is just SO hard.

	Well, I'm almost ALWAYS free. At least, on weekends...just depends on my homework load, you know? I really do want to be the pianist. I don't know if my brother would want to do bass every now and then....because well, he has a band of his own right now. As for vocals: 1. I think that anyone who WRITES the song, should be the one to SING the song. Unless, that person does not want to sing it and chooses someone that they think would hold the vocal skills for that song. 2. I think that Emma should get top priority to sing because whenever we start talking about getting a band together, she says that she doesn't have really any instrument that she can use except for her voice. I mean....if she wants to do guitar or something...it's always good to have 2 guitarists...or maybe she'd like to do bass. She could use mine. 3. I know you guys want to all sing, but I don't know about us ALL singing background. I mean, yeah...we need a few people to do that, but those people aren't going to be singing every single second. I mean....it's nice when you have 1 or 2 other people singing...but I don't really like it when you have too much going on. I mean....the lyrics aren't the only thing that matters.....the actually MUSIC is key. If that means that I'm not going to be singing every song, then that's fine by me. I think we should all get together sometime to talk about this in depth. I mean....the whole band concept along with singing issues and anything else.

	I'm supposed to learn rythem guitar and sing for my band but we have never really kicked off.

	1. I definitely, definitely agree. And if that person doesn't want to sing it, then whoever they pick for who they think has the best voice for that particular song. 2. I disagree with that one. I don't think someone should get to sing just because they don't do anything else (no offense Emma). Different people can sing different songs, simple as that. 3. Whoever is playing an instrument and wants to sing backup should sing it. I don't think we need people ONLY singing backup, though....cause we're probably not going to have that going on every second. I feel like if you're going to be in a band without one lead singer, you need to play some sort of instrument. Not to exclude anyone, but I mean....what else are you going to do if you're not playing an instrument and you're not singing lead? Claire, I have an idea. Let's get together and do a song just piano, vocals, and drums (mellow drums). Just to start off, so we get a feel for making music together....besides, that might be kind of cool.

	I WANT TO BE IN A BAND TOO. My mom says we'll never get one together... lovely supporting parents... (¬_¬) I'd play bass. Zeta could play guitar. She's been taking it forever, and she could use my guitar and I'd use Claire's bass.

	Guys, no matter what our parents say, or what our past experiences tell us, I think we should really think this out, plan well, keep our cool and just totally work for it and beat all odds against us to make this band. I mean...we've done it before, haven't we? Not specifically with the band, but I mean, with other things, I have a few examples for everyone. From one of my favorite lines from Mean Girls.... "Okay, let's rock this b*h!"

	Okay, guys, I like that. PLAN. Perfect. Emma, are you seriously committed to trying bass? You shouldn't play something just because we need it....I mean, if you like guitar, then fantastic, that's superb! But if you're just "eh" about it....just consider. Maya; start learning as many songs as you can figure out on violin. Start with Broken (if you can). We're not good enough to play that, but it would be KICKASS to hear you play it, plus it's always good to practice..... Claire and I are going to get some basics going together this weekend. If we can get a song or two on the road, that'd be awesome, and then we can add in other voices and instruments. Sound good to everyone?
