heart My Heart heart
I look at you, you look at me,
I whisper the words, "I love you!"
You look at me, I look at you,
You whisper but two words, "I'm sorry!"
I look at you, you get up to leave,
I feel a pain in my heart.
You pulled out a bow, shot a piercing arrow,
The shot hit it's target: My heart.
I clutch my chest, my heart slowing down,
You left me to die on the floor!
I somehow survived, though empty inside,
The shaft still lodged in my chest.
You'll see me someday, head bowed in shame,
You'll wonder what illness I have.
I'll just walk away, and spare you my pain,
And shed a tear for my cold, dead heart.
