"Hey, Naruto!" I smiled and waved at him. Naruto was sitting at the ramen bar eating ramen like crazy as usual. He suddenly turned around with noodles still dangling from his mouth. I laughed and walked over to him.
"Hey, what's up?" He asked.
"Nothing much," I shrugged. "Just bored, decided to see if you wanted to hang out with me today?" I said as more of a question than a statement.
"Hm, kool, I'll hang out with you, you're always fun to hang around," he gave me a huge grin, then returned to his ramen. I turned around in my chair to wait for Naruto finish as I looked around for someone else I knew. As soon as I looked forward, my eyes landed on the dark figure walking.
"SASUKE!" I called to him loud enough so he could hear me. He looked up from the ground and removed his hands from his pocket to shield his eyes from the sun, he looked up at me, seeing me wave at him frantically.
"Hey," he slowly walked over to me.
"Hey, wanna hang out with me today?" I asked. He seemed to take a minute to debate on weather or not he wanted to do something with me.
"Um... sure?" He said in an unsure tone of voice.
"You don't mind if Naruto is with us, do you?" I asked casually, knowing he might freak out.
"I do mind," Sasuke finally noticed Naruto sitting next to me. He glared at Naruto as Naruto turned around.
"YOU! What are you doing here?" Naruto asked.
"I'm here to hang out with her," Sasuke pointed at me.
"Well I'm going to hang out with her, so beat it!" Naruto shouted.
"No, you're BOTH going to hang out with me! It's my birthday, so my birthday gift from you two, will be that you have to be at least aquaintences today so I don't have to deal with your guys' attitudes around eachother, okay?" I asked.
"Hmmghfm," Naruto and Sasuke mumbled.
"I'm sorry, I didn't hear that," I put my hand to my ear.
"Okay," they both sighed. I smiled.
"Great! Cus we're gonna go see a scary movie!" I said standing up making my favorite wierd dramatic pose as standing up with my arms in the air as if I'm asking an audience to yell louder and my head up as if I'm talking to the clouds.
"Why do you always do that?" Naruto asked.
"I don't know, it's just fun to look dramatic," I shrugged.
"Alright, let's go!" I said changing the subject. "I already paid for the tickets, so the movie starts in five minutes! Hurry!" I watched Naruto dig into his pockets for money. I sighed, took out some of my money, slapped it onto the counter and grabbed both Sasuke's and Naruto's hands and dragged them to the theatre.
"What kind of a title is 'the orange spray of doom'?" Sasuke asked in a critical way.
"I don't know, but it seems like a cool movie! People turning into zombies just by inhaling the orange spray!" I felt the excitement rise in me.
"That does sound cool!" Naruto said loudly. We got several people to furiously "SHH" at us. Me and Naruto just turned around and "SHHH"ed them back, they just looked forward to the screen.
"IT'S STARTING!" Naruto shouted. Several "SHH"s again. I sat in between Naruto and Sasuke. I couldn't rest my arms on any of the arm rests, because Sasuke and Naruto used the ones on my side, so I just sat with my hands in my lap. I glanced over at Sasuke, he was supporting his head's weight on his right arm, I looked over at Naruto, he was sitting, excitedly holding onto each arm rest on his side.
I noticed that the arm rests had buttons on the sides, so I got curious and pressed the buttons, the arm rests suddenly rose and Naruto and Sasuke jumped and kept their arms to themselves. I laughed. They didn't bother to put the arm rests back. I kept my hands to my side as did Naruto and Sasuke.
Durring the movie, I was really excited at the beginning, thinking, "oh, this is a cool movie, pretty melo, but a little scarry," but then the movie started getting even scarrier and scarrier and I couldn't stand it.
Something scarry popped up on the huge screen unexpectedly and oddly, the first thing I screamed was Sasuke's name and I grabbed his hand. I suddenly blushed at my action, but Sasuke seemed to enjoy that moment, he held onto my hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze as I resumed to watch the movie. Every time something scarry would pop up, I'd squeek and squeeze tighter on Sasuke's hand.
"That was an intense movie!" Naruto shouted as we walked out of the hot theatre and into the cool night.
"Wow, yeah, that was, it was a pretty good movie for such a crappy title," Sasuke admitted.
"Yeah, it was good," I smiled. I was still pretty scared, then finally I realized that I was still holding his hand. I pulled my hand away quickly blushing. "I'm sorry," I appologized laughing a little.
"No, it's alright, I didn't mind holding your hand through the movie," he gave me a slight smile. I was supprised at his sudden change in moods.
"ALRIGHT, BREAK UP THE MUSHY STUFF!" Naruto said coming in between me and Sasuke.
Naruto threw his arms around Sasuke's neck and my neck and dragged us around.
"HEY! LET GO!" Sasuke struggled to get out of Naruto's grip. I was sitting there laughing and trying to get out of his hold.
"Well, I gotta go, I have to get some sleep so I can go training tomorrow," Naruto said streatching.
"Alright, see ya later," I smiled at him.
"Yeah, happy birthday," Naruto gave me a quick hug and ran off.
"So, what do you wanna do?" I asked Sasuke shyly.
"Dunno," he shrugged.
"How about some ice cream?" I asked.
"Sounds nice, it'll be my treat since you bought my movie ticket," he declared.
"Okay, thanks," I smiled.
"No problem, birthday girl," he gave me another half smile. I wondered what he looked like in a full smile... I got shivers just thinking about it. I can't picture him happy, besides, he looks so much better when he's half smiling than not smiling and too much smiling.
"So what flavor do you want?" Sasuke asked.
"Hmm... I like... vanilla," I smiled. "What do you like?" I asked.
"Accually I hate sweet things, but just tonight I'll have something sweet, I'm doing this for you, so appreciate it," he smirked. I laughed.
"Thank you so much," I hugged him.
He handed me my ice cream cone of vanilla, he had chocolate.
"Ha, ying yang," I compared our ice cream cones.
"Huh?" He asked.
"Chocolate, it's dark, so is your personality in public, and vanila, it's light, like my personality," I smiled.
"Hm, you're so wierd," he laughed.
We found a nice roof top to sit on and enjoy our ice cream. It was a beautiful set, too. The moon was so bright despite the dark night, and the stars were set out perfectly. The weather was perfect, slightly cool, but so warm and comforting. I licked my ice cream as I admired the scenery.
"It's so beautiful," I smiled.
He mumbled something that sounded like "Yeah, you are," but I couldn't figure out if that was what he said.
"What did you say?" I asked.
"Uh, yeah," he said licking his ice cream. I laughed.
"This is really yummy," I licked my ice cream again.
"Can I taste?" He asked. I turned my head to my left to look at him.
"Huh?" I asked, then suddenly he leaned in and softly pressed his lips to mine. I felt my face get hot despite how cold I was from the ice cream. When he pulled back, he smirked from how red I was.
"You're right, it is yummy," he said as he licked his ice cream.
"I-uh-yeah," I said blushing. This was like a dream. I never want to have this moment end. I smiled to myself and finished off my ice cream.
After eating our ice cream, we talked for a while, then he walked me home.
"Thanks for such a great time," I smiled at him. "I really apreciated it," I added.
"Your welcome, I had fun, too. Happy birthday," he gave me a quick kiss on the cheek and walked off. I smiled to myself and went inside.
"Yeah, he was so nice to me, and he even kissed me," I said as I tied the strings in the back of my apron.
"Really? That doesn't sound like Sasuke at all," Temari said in a supprised tone of voice.
"I know, but it was him, for a minute when I got home I was thinking that was some dream or something, but it was real, I even have the movie ticket to prove it," I explained.
"Well, I think he really likes you then," Temari said enthusiastically.
"Yeah, and I really like him, too, but what do I do about my boyfriend," I suddenly realized that I already have a boyfriend.
"Oh yeah, your boyfriend, aren't you dating....”
"Aren't you dating Neji?" Temari asked.
"Yeah, and we've been doing great, but for some reason, I really like Sasuke, too. I like both of them, but I don't know who to choose... because Sasuke's really sweet and he's so nice and handsome and everything, he's just perfect, but Neji is my boyfriend, and I love him a lot, we've been dating for over three months now, and he's done all these sweet things for me, and he's so nice and everything...," I sighed as I picked up my jacket and put it on.
"Well, I don't know... how has your and Neji's love life been?" Temari asked as I sat down on my bed. I switched the phone to my other ear.
"Well, we haven't had much physical contact lately because ever since Gai's team has been having tons of missions, he never has time to hang around me," I explained.
"Well then... I don't know, I think you should break up with Neji, because you and Sasuke make a pretty cute couple," Temari said.
"Hm... I don't know, I'll think it over later, but now, I gotta go to work, I'll talk to you later," I said about to hang up.
"Okay, talk to you later," she hung up. I hung up the phone and grabbed my bag and left.
I walked into the cafe and took off my jacket and threw my bag into the closet. I grabbed the name tag on the counter that had my name on it and pinned it to my apron. I waited for a while to wait for Naruto to show up for work. I was the waitress who served drinks and snacks for the people who sat at the cafe, and Naruto was the waiter. I was still a waitress in training because I had only started this job a week ago, and I still haven't gotten the hang of things yet.
"Hey, what took you so long?" Naruto showed up behind the counter wich made me jump.
"Wow, you scared me," I sighed, Naruto laughed.
"So how was your night with Sasuke?" Naruto asked.
"It was good," I said suddenly feeling shy.
"Did anything happen?" He asked.
"Well... this and that...." I looked away.
"What do you mean?" He asked suspiciously.
"Well... we kinda... kissed...?" I said blushing.
"Really? EW! I can't imagine you kissing Sasuke," Naruto made a face.
"Shut up!" I playfully punched Naruto's arm.
"What? It's true, just stating the truth, is that a bad thing?" Naruto asked innocently. I laughed.
"Excuse me, miss, can I get my order now?" An annoyed voice called to me. I looked up to see a man impaciently tapping his foot.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I'll be right there," I grabbed my note pad and quickly walked over to him.
"Welcome to the order, how may I take your cafe," I paused... wait... "I mean 'Welcome to the cafe, how may I take your order?'"I corrected myself.
"Hmm... yes, I would like one of those," he pointed to something on the menu. I wrote it down.
"Would you like anything else?" I asked in my most friendly voice.
"No thank you," he said looking down.
"Alright, I'll have this to you right away," I smiled and went to the counter to make the drink he wanted.
"Nice performance," Naruto said sarcastically.
"Hey, I'm new to this, I'm still working on it!" I said pushing the blend button.
"No, wait!" The blender went crazy and sticky liquid flew all over the counter. I turned the blender off.
"I'm so sorry!" I appologized as I grabbed a wet cloth and frantically wiped the counter down.
"Don't worry about it, I'll clean up, you just make the smoothy so the customer doesn't get any more impaicent," Naruto laughed.
"Thanks for helping me," I thanked Naruto after the man left.
"Yeah, no problem," he grinned. He saw someone sit down, he immediately ran over to them. I admired how great he was at serving, he was so friendly and so professional looking, he didn't have a single flaw.
I saw someone walk in and sit down. I took a deep breath and tried to look as professional as I could. I walked over to the group of four. It was Kiba, Shino, Kankuro, and Shikamaru. "Hello, welcome to the cafe, how may I take your order?" I asked in a friendly voice. I smiled at how great I did.
"Alright, we'll take four strawberry banana smoothies," Kiba smiled at me.
"Alright, would you like anything else?" I asked.
"Nope, that'll be it," Shino said before Kiba could ask for something else. I nodded and smiled. I turned around and went to the counter.
I made the smoothies without any problem.
I concentrated hard on not spilling the drinks on the tray as I walked over to the table of four. I was doing great, I looked up to see where I was going, and accidentally tripped. I barely caught my balance, but I almost lost it, before I could drop the tray, someone grabbed me by the waist and held onto the tray to keep everything in balance. It was Naruto. I blushed.
"Thanks," I said as I took the tray from him after getting my balance back. Kiba wolf whistled at us. I blushed and took the tray over to them. They all took the drinks and I returned to the counter.
"That was really nice of you to save me there," I smiled at him.
"Yeah, I did it for two reasons, one, I wouldn't want you to get hurt, two, if those glasses broke, it would be off my pay check," he laughed. I smiled and set the tray down.
"Yeah, nice display, Naruto," a familiar voice said from behind us. I turned around to see Neji. I smiled.
"Hi Neji! I-"
"Don't talk to me, I saw you kissing Sasuke yesterday. I can't believe you would cheat on me like that. I thought you loved me, but I guess you don't," he coldly glared at me, then turned around. "We're over," he said as he walked off.
I was in such shock, I couldn't move.
"Woah... I'm sorry," Naruto said as he looked down.
"No, it's okay," I said shaking out of my shock. "It's better off this way because now I don't have to be scared to hang around other guys now, and he won't have a girlfriend who isn't commited to him," I explained starting to feel a little better.
After work, I went home and picked up the phone to dial Temari's number, but before I could touch the number button, the phone rang, it scared me so bad, I dropped my phone. I picked it up and answered.
"Hello?"
"Hey, I heard about how you and Neji broke up," Sasuke's voice said apologetically.
"Wow, word gets out fast, doesn't it?" I asked in a supprised voice.
"What? You're not depressed or anything?" He asked.
"Nah, it's accually better for us," I sighed.
"Well, I just wanted to call to see how you were doing to see if you were okay," he explained.
"Thanks, I really apreciate it," I said sweetly.
"Okay, well whatever you do, don't open your closet, okay?" Sasuke asked in more of an order than a question.
"Huh? What do you mean-"
"Talk to ya later!" He hung up on me. I stood there as I hung up.
What did he mean don't open my closet?
The temptation was just too overpowering. I took a deep breath and slowly made my way to my closet. The lights were out wich made the moment all the more scarrier. Suddenly I got a vision of the movie I had watched the night before. I saw all the scarry zombie faces. I hesitated to take a step forward, but I reminded myself it was only a movie. I took another step, my stomach started to feel wierd, and my legs felt heavy. I took another step, now my hand on the door knob. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. I yanked the door open and opened my eyes. I gasped at what I saw.
I gasped at the huge life size teddy bear holding a giant card with my name in the middle with a heart around it.
"Oh my goodness it's so cute!" I squealed in a girlish voice. Usually I would never say something like that, but if you were me, you would do the same thing. I opened the huge card on my bed and on the inside, was a poem that was written by Sasuke.
"I love you, and you love me, I just know we're meant to be. In this world, there's just you and I, without you here, for sure, I would die. There's nobody on the earth I'd rather see, because to my heart, you have the key." (I wrote that poem, not Sasuke... but since I'm the author of the story, It says Sasuke wrote it!) and inside the card was a beautiful necklace with a key as the charm. I was so happy I almost cried. I picked up the phone and called Sasuke.
"Sasuke! I love you so much!" I said as he answered.
"Oh, so you did open your closet?" He asked.
"Yes, even if you told me not to," I explained. "Why didn't you want me to open it?" I asked.
"I did, that's why I told you NOT to open the closet, because I know you so well and if someone tells you NOT to do something, you'll do it anyways just because you can't resist temptations," he explained. I laughed.
"You know me all too well," I said as I put the necklace on. I admired it in the mirror.
"Hey, Naruto," I said as I pinned the name tag on my apron.
"Hey, how are you? You seem pretty happy today," he leaned up against the counter.
"Yeah, Sasuke gave me this, with a big card, and a big teddy bear that's almost bigger than I am," I said showing off my necklace. Naruto examined the necklace.
"It's plastic," he laughed.
"Yeah Sasuke said he got it out of a little toy capsule machine from the grocery store, but it's so cute," I smiled to myself.
"Yeah? That's cool," Naruto said as h walked off to go take someone's order. I thought for a second and noticed that when he said that, there was a hint of bitterness. I shrugged it off and went to go take someone's order.
"I've been doing good so far," I nodded at myself. "Yeah, you haven't made a single mistake... yet," Naruto smirked.
"Hey, don't say that, you just jinxed (sp?) me!" I said sheilding myself from him. He laughed.
"Miss, may I have a straw?" The man at the far table called to me. I nodded and grabbed a straw. I went over to him and handed him the straw.
"Would you like anything else?" I asked.
"Yes, may I have three smoothies?" He asked. I nodded. I was confused why he would want three smoothies since he didn't have three people, it was just him... maybe he really likes smoothies. I shrugged and made the smoothies.
On my way over, I accidentally tripped and dropped the tray along with all the drinks. None of the glasses broke though.
"Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry, I'll clean that up. I'm sorry, I'll get you one extra smoothie no charge, I'm sorry," I said as I picked up the glasses and ran back to the counter. I found the mop and mopped up the mess, then remade the smoothies.
"Thank you, miss, but it wasn't your fault, here, you can keep the change," he handed me fifty dollars. The drinks were only ten dollars, he gave me 40 dollars tip! I gaped at the fifty dollar bill as he walked off with his drinks.
"Hey, since you made such a mess and almost broke my glasses, you're cleaning dishes tonight," the manager said and walked off.
"I'll help," Naruto voulenteered.
"No, it's alright, I'll clean and you can go. I'll lock up, too," I said trying to get Naruto go to.
"No, I want to help," he insisted.
"Okay then, if you really want to," I shrugged. The owner had left and the cafe was empty besides Naruto and I who were doing dishes.
I tried to think of something to talk about. I realized I'd been talking a lot about Sasuke and I never got to hear about who Naruto likes.
"So, who do you like in the village?" I asked.
"Well the girl I like is so nice to me and she's beautiful, but she never pays attention to her surroundings... she seems to never look at what she already has," he said.
"What? That's an odd way to talk about a girl you like," I said taking another plate from the bottom of the sink and pulling it out of the water to wash it.
"Well she is," he said defensively as he grabbed another plate.
As I cleaned dishes, I thought of who the girl he was talking about. Sakura... she's pretty, and she only pays attention to Sasuke... but she's not very nice to Naruto... I couldn't think.
I reached into the water to grab another plate at the same time Naruto grabbed a plate, our hands touched, I was about to pull my hand back, but he grabbed my hand and held onto it.
"Naruto?" I turned to look at him. His expression was so ... wierd. I'd never seen him with that expression. His eyes were soft and almost looked sad. Suddenly he leaned in towards me and kissed me on the lips
.I was so confused at what to do. If I kissed back, Naruto would really like me but Sasuke would hate me forever. If I pulled back, Sasuke would like me, but Naruto would hate me forever. I almost colapsed in such stress and confusion.
"Hey! No romance in the kitchen, get back to work!" The manager interrupted. Relief along with embarrassment swept over me. We both nodded and obidiently finished the dishes.
When I finished, Naruto left without a word.
I couldn't help but feel guilty that we had kissed... well more like he kissed me, but I still couldn't stand it that something so horrible would happen, what if Sasuke finds out? Everything will fall apart. I sighed as I sank to the kitchen floor.
Suddenly, I heard a sound. I stood up and saw the keys in the sink. I panicked and tried to grab them, only slightly hit them and make them go down the drain. I let out a shriek. "NO!" I stuck my hand down the sink, then freaked out thinking the garbage disposal would get me, so I took my hand back. "Oh no! What am I gonna do? Why me?" I sank back to the ground again.
I should get help! I stood up again and ran to the door. I tried to open it... it wouldn't budge. I pulled harder. Still nothing... suddenly... it hit me. The door's locked from the outside... Naruto was probably so sucked up in his thoughts that he forgot I was still in here and locked the door!
"NOO!" I sobbed as I sank to the ground. "No way! I can't be stuck in here! NO WAY!" I slammed my fist on the door. The next working day was in four days! I don't know how to cook! What if I starve to death?!?
I continued to bang my head on the door in a slow rythm. Bang Bang Bang Bang. I flinched in pain. Bang Bang Bang. Suddenly, the idea hit me! THE PHONE! At first, I hit my head on the wall three times harder as punishment for sitting on the floor hitting my head on the wall for two hours when I could've been calling for help. I got up and ran to the phone. I dialed Sasuke's number. "Hello?" He answered.
"Sasuke! I need help! I'm locked in the restaraunt!" I sobbed.
"I'll be right over!" He hung up. I sank back to the floor and sighed in relief.
"I'm saved," I said to myself. I remained on the ground until someone came to the door. I looked through the top window of the wooden door to see Sasuke.
"Sasuke!" I shouted.
"I'm here to save you!" I heard his voice from the other side. "Back away from the door, I'm gonna kick it in," he warned. I ran to the back of the room. I watched as the door was kicked in. Sasuke burst through and ran up to me, hugging me so tight, I was sure I would die of lack of oxygen.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah, I'm okay." I smiled as I hugged him back. I felt so safe in his arms. I felt as if nothing bad would ever happen to me.
"I'm glad. How long have you been locked in here?" He asked pulling back.
"Two and a half hours," I answered.
"Why didn't you call me earlier?!?" He asked.
"... I didn't think of it until I called you..." I answered feeling myself blush from embarrassment.
"Oh well, at least you're okay," he smiled and kissed me on the forehead. I blushed even more.
"Hey, you're gonna have to fix that door, I'm not paying for that," I said in a somewhat teasing voice. But I meant it. There's no way I'm letting my paycheck go because of this incident. He laughed.
"Alright, well go get me a screwdriver and a hammer," he ordered. I nodded and ran to the storage closet.
"Thanks for saving me, and fixing the door," I thanked him.
"No problem," he smiled at me.
"We should leave now," I stood up from the table we had been sitting at for ten minutes, just talking. Sasuke stood up and walked to the door. He took the door knob and shut the door and locked it.
"Sasuke? What are you-"
He turned the lights off. It was almost completely dark besides the "OPEN" sign at the window.
"Sasuke-"
"I think being in a restaraunt all alone at night is kinda romantic, don't you?" He asked as he walked over to me. He took my hands. I blushed.
"Sasuke, this is wrong, we shouldn't be here, we need to-" my words were cut off by his lips. I immediately forgot all about what I was going to say. I kissed him back. I closed my eyes and placed my hands on his shoulder as his arms gently wrapped around my waist, slowly pulling me closer to him.
"I love you," he said in between kisses. I smiled and kissed him as I felt him backing me up. I could feel a table behind me, he lightly pushed me onto it.
"Sasuke-" he climbed on top of me as he kissed my cheek. He moved his lips to my neck, kissing my neck lightly, then he started to suck on it.
"No- Sasuke, don't give me a hickey, my parents will-"
"Shh," he lightly placed his fingers to my lips. I smiled at how rediculous this was. Half of me wanted this, but the other half wanted to play it safe and just go home. Unfortunately, the half that wanted it was my body, and my brain no longer had control over my body. I layed back and relaxed as he sucked hard on my neck. The color started forming on my neck. He finally pulled back. The spot he had sucked on was cold. It sent shivers down my back. I took Sasuke's cheek and kissed him passionately, the sweet passionate kiss turned into an agressive battle to see who was a better kisser.
"Wow, sounds like you had a crazy day," Temari said over the phone.
"Yeah, I know, and I'm not sure what to do... I mean... Naruto... he's so fun and sweet and so nice, and loves me a lot. But Sasuke who is just like Naruto, except he got to me first, but I don't know what to do," I sighed.
"Well... Honestly, neither do I. I think you should tell Naruto that you two are just friends and not to interfere with you and Sasuke," she suggested.
"That's probably the best thing to do," I sighed.
"Well, gotta go to bed, talk to ya later," Temari hung up. I hung up the phone and dug through my closet for a turtle neck. I put it on and made sure the hickey wasn't visible. Every time I looked at it, it sent shivers down my spine, every time I thought about it, it made my stomach flutter.
I woke up with the turtle neck practically choking me. I panicked thinking it was a rope around my neck, but came back to earth and realized it was just my sweater. I was so hot last night, this stupid sweater is killer!
I went to get ready and go meet up with Sasuke. He had slipped a note in my back pocket while we were having "fun" in the restaraunt yesterday. He wanted me to meet him down at the park as soon as I woke up. I brushed my hair, got dressed, then brushed my teeth.
"Dad! I'm going over to the park," I called to him. He walked into the kitchen as I poured a glass of orange juice.
"What's with the sweater? It's practically summer right now! Don't tell me you're hot," he said confusedly. I drank down my orange juice.
"I'm just a bit chilly, I have a shirt under in case I get over heated!" I waved and ran off before he could say anything else.
"Sasuke, you're so lucky I have a turtle neck," I sighed as i stood next to him.
"Why?" He asked cluelessly.
"The hickey? My parents?" I pointed out.
"Oh, I'm sorry about that, I guess I got a little carried away," he said blushing slightly. He leaned up against the nearest tree.
"It's okay," I pulled off the sweater and took a deep breath of fresh air. "That sweater is so warm," I fanned myself with my hand. I was wearing a white tank top under the big dark blue sweater.
"Really? Sasuke pressed his cold body to mine, making me blush. "Yeah, you are warm," he smiled. "But I'm cold, maybe you could warm me up?" He said as he cocked an eyebrow. I laughed and kissed his soft lips.
"So this is who you're dating now, huh? And he gave you that hickey?" I heard a familiar voice say from behind me. I turned around to see... my mom.
"Oh, mom! I uh..." Uh oh.. now my mom's found out... what now?
"M-m-mom!" I backed away from Sasuke.
"I can't believe you would go out and get a boyfriend, go on secret dates, get a hickey!" He voice rose in anger. "AND NOT TELL ME!" She pouted. "WHY NOT? I'm so happy for you! And he's a cute one, too! Unlike that Neji guy," she hugged me tightly.
"Oh, I like your mom already," Sasuke chuckled.
"MOM! You're embarrassing me!" I said blushing in embarrassment.
"Okay okay, well I'll be at home, you two should stop by and I'll make some pie for you. Oh and don't worry, I won't tell your dad, he'll explode if he does, we don't want that to happen, well anyways, BYE SWEETY!" She gave me a big slopy kiss on the cheek and left. I wiped the slobber off of my cheek.
"Aw, how sweet," Sasuke teased.
"Shut up," I couldn't help but laugh.
"I love you 'SWEETY'" Sasuke gave me a big slobery kiss.
"Hey! I just wiped the slober off my cheek," I laughed.
"I love your laugh, it's adorable," he smiled at me. I smiled and stood on my toes to kiss him on the cheek.
Oh no, today I have work. I sighed as I got dressed. That means that I have to tell Naruto that I don't like him as more than a friend. But I do like him more than a friend, but I also like Sasuke. What am I gonna do? I shook my thoughts out of my head and focused. I have to tell him, this way it'll leave me and Sasuke to our "business" and stuff.
"Hey, how was your wee-"
"Naruto can I talk to you?" I grabbed his arm and dragged him into the closet and shut the door.
"Um... why are we in a-"
"Naruto, I have to tell you something. I need to tell you about my feelings for you," I started. Strong start.
"I know, and I feel the same way for you," he said. I looked up at him. A slight wave of anger flew over me because I was so short, but then I came back and realized what he had said. Does he not like me anymore? "I can't hold it in much longer, I have to tell you, I love you, too," he said as he pulled me into a tight embrace. My eyes widened. He misunderstood me! He thinks I love him! Oh no! What am I gonna do?
"YOU GUYS! NO ROMANCE!" The manager yelled from the outside of the door. I rushed to open it.
"Sorry, we won't do it again!" I bowed my head to him.
What do I do? I saw a couple walk in and sit down at a table. Something was wierd. I suddenly blushed as I realized that was the table Sasuke and I had made out on. I quickly walked away.
"Naruto, can you serve them?" I asked as I pointed to the table.
"Um-"
"Thanks, I have to go out for a break," I said walking off.
"But we just started work five minutes ago!" He called after me.
I ran outside and sat down on the steps to the back door. I took in a deep breath of fresh air to get my brain going again.
"Hey, are you alright? You seem kinda wierd today," Naruto sat down next to me.
"Naruto, the thing is, I can't like you as more than a friend," I blurted. For a second, there was dissapointment in his eyes, but then he softly smiled at me.
"Then whenever you CAN like me, I'll be there, I'll wait for you," he smiled at me as he hugged me. I smiled. "Thanks Naruto," I smiled as I hugged him back.
"Let's get back to work or we'll get in trouble with the manager again," he said getting up, he helped me up and we went back inside.
I hummed a happy tune as I walked towards my house. I felt so happy that I was able to get Naruto to understand and still be my best friend, and still get to keep Sasuke. I waited for the sign to turn to "walk" I smiled and waited as I thought about what an incredible day I've been having so far. The sign turned to walk, I checked both ways, and right in front of me, was Sasuke and some girl kissing on the other side of the street. He kissed her so passionately. I hid behind a bush and watched. He smiled down at her and she smiled up to him, she kissed him again. My vision blurred from the tears flooding my eyes. I suddenly burst from the bush I had been hididng behind and ran the other way. I took the long way home so I could avoid seeing Sasuke.
He called several times.
"You there? Pick up! Let's go on a date tonight. Call back."
"Hello? Why aren't you answering? Is anyone home?"
"Hello? Hello? What's going on? Are you hurt? Should I come over?"
"Hello? Why aren't you answering? Did I do something wrong?"
I suddenly picked up the phone.
"Don't ever call me again. Don't talk to me, don't even go near me! I never want to see you again! We're over, Sasuke!" I hung up on him, sobbing into my pillow.
"Hey! Hello? Answer your door, it's Naruto!" Naruto knocked on my door. I opened it, forgetting I was still in my PJs and holding my small teddy bear. "Oh, hey, um, cute PJs," he blushed.
"Sorry, I didn't know anyone was going to come over," I said opening the door wider to invite him in.
"I heard about you and Sasuke, he seems pretty depressed," Naruto pointed out.
"Good, he deserves it," I said coldly.
"Why?" He asked.
"Because, I saw him cheating on me with some other girl. I saw him kissing some other girl across the street the other day," I explained.
"I'm so sorry," Naruto said as he walked up to me. He held me in a gentlil hug. Right when his soft warm comforting skin touched mine, tears poured out. I couldn't stop them. "Don't cry over someone like him, you're too good for him, you don't need him," Naruto said as he tried to calm me down.
It's been two weeks since we broke up, I avoided Sasuke the whole time. He kept trying to talk to me, desprately trying to get me to talk to him. He called me so many times, I changed my number. He left so many letters in my mail box, I sent them all back to him. He would follow me every where, but I kept Sakura with me to keep him away. (Sakura really IS useful!). I had grown closer to Naruto, he hugged me just about every day when I entered the restaraunt as if we hadn't seen eachother in weeks.
I entered the restaraunt and Naruto came running up to me. He pulled me into a tight embrace.
"HEY! I MISSED YOU!" He said squeezing the living daylights out of me.
"Take it easy Naruto," I laughed. He let go.
"Alright, let's get to work!" Naruto said as if he had just taken an energy booster. I smiled and went to the first table I saw... the one that Sasuke and I had made out on. I got a bitter taste in my mouth, but I didn't let that bother me. I went up to the group and took their orders. I was doing much better. I was able to do everything on my own now without having to have Naruto save me. I was proud of myself.
"Okay, you two stay and clean, then lock up, got it? I'll see you two in four days!" The manager left.
I went to the kitchen and started washing dishes as Naruto sweeped up. When he finished, he helped me wash dishes.
"You're doing it wrong," Naruto pointed out.
"Huh?" I asked.
"You missed a spot," he said.
"Where?" I asked. He scooped up a sponge and squished it to my cheek.
"There!" He said running off.
"Naruto!" I shouted. I ran after him with the sink spray. I sprayed him with cold water.
"AHH! COLD!" He jumped around doing his little dance. I laughed.
After an hour, we had a huge mess again. Naruto helped me clean up.
"That was a pretty crazy sword fight," Naruto laughed.
"Don't you mean chop sticks fight?" I asked poking him with one of the chopsticks on the ground. He laughed.
"I had so much fun today," I smiled. "I'm glad you had fun," he stood up and threw away the last of the trash.
"Naruto?" I asked. He looked at me.
"Huh?"
"Remember when you said you'd be waiting for me?" I asked.
"Technically I said I would wait for you, but yes, what about it?" He asked blushing a little.
"Um... are you still waiting?" I asked.
"Y-yes," He answered.
"W-wel um... will you be.. will you-"
"Will you be my girlfriend?" Naruto suddenly blurted. I smiled.
"I thought you'd never ask," I smiled and kissed him on the cheek. His whole face turned red. I giggled and continued cleaning the dishes.
"Wow, that was... wow, and you're... wow, and... wooooooowwwwww," he said as if he were gonna float off the face of the earth. I couldn't help but laugh.
"Naruto, you're so funny," I laughed. I finished up the dishes.
"Alright, well that's it, now let's go," I said as I grabbed the keys, took off my apron and hung it up.
