Monkey Airplane Soldier
Be kind, please rewind.
Section 4!
This is the first section where it's not from Ada's point of view. Enjoy and COMMENT! I want feedback, criticism, ideas, commentary, things you thought were funny, interesting, what you want more of or less of....be SPECIFIC! Love you guys!

Alice stepped onto the school bus and smiled. There were only a few seats open, and one of them was right next to a very pretty redhead in a blue skirt. Alice pretended to look for a seat before stopping next to the girl.
“Hey, can I sit here?”
The red head looked up and nodded. “Yeah, sure.” She pushed her backpack to the ground in front of her and Alice sat down.
The redhead smiled in that I-don’t-know-you-but-I’m-polite sort of way, then went back to playing around with her iPod.
Alice cocked her head. “What’re you listening to?”
The girl glanced up. “Oh, the Beatles, actually.” She gave a small laugh. “I guess I’ve got different taste than most people.”
“You like the Oldies?”
“Yeah, kind of. I just listen to whatever music I like, not just genres, though.” She shrugged.
“Yeah?” Alice took out her iPod. “Here, try this.”
The redhead took the offered ear piece. “Who is it?”
“Just listen.”
Alice smiled as the girl’s expression changed. “Oh my god, you are like, the only other person I know who’s even heard of Mallory’s Caravan!” She looked up at Alice. “How-?”
Alice laughed. “I’m a dancer, so I know a lot of music. I’ve got like, a sixth sense about what people will like.”
The girl nodded. “I’ve got a sixth sense, too. I see dead people.” She kept a straight face for about 5 seconds before she and Alice both snorted.
“I’m Alice, by the way.”
“Jenny.”
“Very nice to meet you, Jenny!”
“And you as well!”
Alice smiled. “Well, okay then!”
Jenny glanced out the window, then back at Alice. “So, I’ve never seen you on this bus before.”
“Well, I always take it, but I usually sit with my brother Edgar, and he drags me to the very back.” Alice rolled her eyes. Then she paused. “Speaking of which…” The bus had started moving. “I wonder where he is…”
Jenny let out a small giggle. “You lost your brother? Most people lose, like, socks, not siblings.”
Alice sighed. “Yeah…that’s my family for you.”
“Well, I’m sure he’ll turn up.”
But Alice was beginning to get worried. Edgar never missed the bus; he hated school, he wouldn’t stay late for anything. And there was no other way he could get home today, anyways. Where could he possibly be?
She was beginning to realize that this situation actually called for a bit of a panic attack. Nothing like this had ever happened before, first of all. Second of all, there was really nowhere else Edgar could possibly want to go after school; he’d been growing distant from his friends, as far as she could tell, and he wasn’t in any clubs. He always just came home, shut himself up in his room, and painted. Painted canvas’, of God knows what (he never let anyone but Ada see them), and occasionally went out for a walk. But they lived almost two miles from the high school; he wouldn’t be walking home.
Maybe she should call Ada. Her middle school was only a half mile from high school, maybe Edgar had walked there for some reason…?
Alice got her cell phone out and glanced at Jenny, who had gone back to her iPod. “You don’t mind if I make a call?”
Jenny looked up and pulled one earpiece out. “Hm?”
Alice waved her LG. “Phone call?”
“Oh, sure.” Jenny smiled and went back to playing some game with exploding helicopters.
Alice dialed. Ada never left her phone on, that pain in the a**….but at least it was ringing…
“Hullo?”
“Ada?”
“Yah…who is this?”
“It’s Alice.” She rubbed her neck anxiously. “Is Edgar with you?”
Ada paused on the other line. “No…” Alice could hear the question in her sister’s voice. “What’s goin’ on?”
Alice sighed worriedly. “He didn’t get on the bus with me today. I haven’t seen him since…” She paused, and thought about it. “Seventh period. I saw him in the hallway, but now I don’t know where he is.”
There was another pause from the other line. “D’you think Rachel…?”
“No, she-”
“She doesn’t have a license, oh yeah,” Ada said, finishing Alice’s thought.
There was a silence on the phone as they both thought. Alice was frowning in consideration. If he wasn’t with Ada (and that had been a bit of a long shot as it was), then where could he possibly be? She couldn’t call Mom…and with Dad having just left… “Aw, ********…” Alice was suddenly very irritated with Edgar for going missing at such a bad time. “********,” she said again, and noticed Jenny watching her.
Jenny mouthed, “you okay?” and Alice nodded in what was admittedly an unconvincing way.
She spoke to Ada. “Okay, well, I’ll see you at home. Call me if you see him or…something..” She trailed off. “Yeah.”
“Kay. And hey, call his cell.”
“He lost it, remember?”
“Oh yeah.”
“Yeah. Well, see you at home.”
“Bye.”
Alice hung up, leaned her head in her chin, closed her eyes, and took a deep breath.

Ha! I like it! I like the introducton scene between Alice and Jenny! And I really liked seeing two different people's reactions with figuring out the same thing (the last scene with Ada and this one). I'm really really interested on how this is going!! I'm so worried and anxious and excited at the same time.

Typos: You have Ada written instead of Alice:

Ada got her cell phone out and glanced at Jenny, who had gone back to her iPod. “You don’t mind if I make a call?”

That's it. I LOVE IT!!! GOOD JOB SWEETIE!!! *smoocheroo*

Dun Dun Dun....where could Edgar be? The anticipation is killing me....(more of an anticipation for meeting the GRANDMOTHER...but I'll stop bothering you about that. Okay, I lied. I'll never stop bothering you.)

Ha....I've never lost my brother before....

Mostly, I'm the one who gets lost, not my brother.
I love that you guys are curious! And thanks, Bram, also. I'm posting more right now....
