The Prelude
Her blood coursed through her veins in a way it never had before . Her eye flickered from her blood soaked hands to the man who lay on the floor . “My God . . . . “

A thin dark haired girl stood in the doorway of a Tokyo city penthouse apartment her hands and shirt soaked in blood . She looked toward the open window were a slight breeze tossed the curtains around . She wasn’t sure what had just happened .but she knew she owed her visited her life .
Twenty minutes later she sat on the back of and ambulance being treated by a paramedic “Well sweety your gonna need stitches for this one on your head and that gash on your legs is gonna need some tending to . We’ll get you to the hospital to fix you right up . “ The woman smiled and looked her in the eyes “But we can’t keep calling you “Girl “ or “Sweety” could you tell me your name .” The girl stared at the woman almost blankly , only the slightest flicker could be seem but no answer . “Well that’s ok well just go now . Ok sweety?” The girl nodded and stood up . They climbed into the truck and headed off .
Later , She lay on a gurney awake being sewed together by a doctor whom she didn’t like for some unexplainable reason . “Alice “ She said sitting up and grabbing the doctors hand . “Well I’m glad you’ve remembered your name but I must finish here.” Alice glared at him “I’ve known my name I only now found my tongue and strength.” The doctor his name being Dr.Plinsky smiled “That’s nice but you must let me go now I need to fix your leg.” At this Alice wrenched his hand off her and jumped off the bed . “Why must you doctors always “Fix” What’s not broken .” The Doctor rushed to the door and locked it “Now Alice you need my help please calm down.” “No I don’t I can sew . Are you telling me you took how many years of schooling to sew.” The doctor got and annoyed look “Now Alice this is your last chance come the be sense able . Sit.” She shook her head “I’m not your dog.” Just then a nurse came up and grabbed her wile another stabbed her with a needle Alice clasped on the floor . “She more trouble then she’s worth.”
As She slowly woke up Alice heard banging and screaming around her then felt her body being lifted gently off her bed and being rushed out the window .

Alice lay on her side stroking her arm in her sleep as her mother had done it became habit . She finally awoke and sat up her eyes darting around the room and stopping on a hooded shadow in the far corner . This she came to understand was her savior and protector . But why ? This she would soon find out .
Alice stood up and walked toward the figure . Whom shifted as she approached . “ I know you’re the one who saved me . Who are you?” The figure stood up and stepped out of the shadows and slid off its hood . The figure was a man with dark hair and the most stunning blue eyes . He was very fit but didn’t look human not that he was deformed . His body was perfect he was tall and lean with the perfect amount of muscle . “I am Othello your Kagenie .” He looked into her eyes .
Alice stepped back “Othello MY shadow sacrifice?” “Yes.” He nodded “Because although I am a vampire I will die for a noble purpose .” Alice stammered “This can’t be . . . . . you cant be mine” She turned to leave then realized there were no doors . “Alice Its no mistake . I know you’ve had a Kagenie before who too sacrificed his life for you . But you know that a Kagenie is born to die for one person I too was born for you .” Alice turned on here heels “No . Your mistaken there must be another Alice your looking for . No one will die for me again . If anyone is to die on behalf of my sins it will be me .” at this Alice ran to the window and climbed onto the ledge ,and as is in a split second she felt her body being jerked back “No leave me !” She screamed . “Never “ Othello held he tight to he’s chest and kissed her . Alice felt her muscles weaken under his strong arms and she drifted slowly into a dream . She was rested on the bed and in the moonlight she felt all her pains and fears melt away .
In the morning light Alice awoke to the sound of rushing water she hadn’t noticed the night before . She began to look for Othello he was no were to be seen only a note written in old world script hung on the window and it read . . .
Alice .
I’ve gone out to get food will be back soon .

Alice smiled but caught herself “No I can’t do this again .” Memories flooded her mind of her first kagenie ,Himori she had loved him and he had died saving her life from the Japanese equivalent of the mafia . He was shoot in the head a fatal blow through the temple . Tears fell from her eyes as she stood at the window her head hung in morning
