well, seeing how the well of actualy greek mythology has run dry, how about we take a page from kamigawa block and make up something that looks like it fits, despite being pulled out of our a**? (a la akki and orochi)
it's kinda depressing how adding wings/birdlike characteristics make something a greek monster, but i'm going to try to avoid that. though harpies could be a rarity in the world, i'm thinking snake/men would be a good black civilization. the gorgons, hydra, and whatever the hydra (and other things) mother was called all had snake-bits, and generally displayed the less favorable aspects of the world, and humanity that black embodies. so that works.
blue is still painfully lacking. merfolk don't strike me as greek, and I actually want something with wings for blue. hmm...how b lue are sphynxes? and where does that leave me for white? ah the ponderings.

The things that live in my head.
I have little ideas in my head. Many of them are fed by my overactive imagination and grow and take on a life of their own. Usually they die off after a while, but I'm getting kinda tired of that. Feel free to comment, it builds their character.

Aren't tritons or sirens from greek mythology? I'm not sure...
The problem here is that a great deal of the Greek mythos deals with creatures and thing that would be "legendary permanents" in Magic- there aren't exactly races of monsters like goblins and elves, there's really only one or two of each, aside from creatures like the Titans and the hundred-handed giants.
To my knowledge, there's only the one Minotaur, and one Chimera, and one Hydra, etc...
And the mother of all monsters is called "Echidna", like Knuckles. wink
Good luck with the writing!
