In case you didn't see the sneer, that was sarcasm.

I was driving down the road silently cursing the various morons that own cars for the single purpose of raising my blood pressure.

This was more or less normal.
At 6:15 the pager went off, interrupting a particularly inspired stream on invective.
At 6:16 the pager went off.
I sighed.
At 6:17 the pager went off.
I frowned.
At 6:18 the pager went off.
I scowled.
At 6:19 the pager went off.
The scowl became really ugly.
At 6:20 the pager went off.
I can taste the blood from biting my tongue (there are children in the car).
Be the time I got home and logged on a Demo job had gone down as well.

PTIQHBLK JCL error, DBVM0030 not found.
PTEBH13 JCL error, DBVM0030 not found.
PTIQHIBS JCL error, DBVM0030 not found.
PTBOH17 JCL error, DBVM0030 not found.
PTBOH12 JCL error, DBVM0030 not found.
PTBOH11 JCL error, DBVM0030 not found.

Now, I could be wrong, but it's almost like a pattern.
I know it's a long shot but, maybe they're connected.
I ran a scan and found that there were over 120, that's when I stopped counting, JCLs and Procs in prod that reference VM0030.

Rather that try to figure out which of these had not been brought down to test and sanitized I decided to let the deleter (word?)

of the file retain that particular joy. Instead I would rebuild the file and just restart the surly six.
There was no backup.
No backup to disk,
No backup to tape.
There is alpha.
That will do.
Yep, the DSC VSAM on Test now looks suspiciously like the DSC VSAM on Alpha.
I don't know how many abends were avoided by doing this, but it was not my idea of
a fun way to produce a module list.

The PDBRU03 had a little SOC7 (that's a S0C4 with a 75% yield) Do I smell a rat on this one. No, that would be "unpatriotic" and "downright uncivilized".

Actually it was almost a relief to look at something that was not a missing VSAM file.
I found the source and load in demo so I compiled and bound the prod source into demo and reran from the top.
It were no big thangamabobber.

PTCOU35 - The delay left this poor little fella alone in a bad neighborhood and he got mugged.
He normally runs much earlier, down in Johnson county.
While he was cowering is some back alley his input was stolen.
After I found him we managed to locate the discarded input and send him on his way.
(For those of you who don't speak Me. PTCOU35 abended on the SM001 following the delete define reload of the DTB.TEST.DBVM042Y because something else was using the file when it tried to delete it. This normally runs much earlier. I restarted and it ran fine.)

I'm smiling now.
No, I am.
Seriously.
