- The sheer beauty of the forest engulfed me. I could not help myself. As I gave in to my senses, the cool mountain wind blew my hair to my shoulder, like the girl I saw in the town square fiddling with her tresses. I looked up and took a deep breath; the sweet smell of pine rushed into my nostrils, opening my eyes to greet the welcoming moon. On impulse, I ran to the river and took an effortless leap over two meters' worth of stepping stones to the centre, immediatly sitting crisscrossed, tenderly outlining the reflection the moon made. As the sun rose, I could see, I could ponder, the difference between day and night. Not just the birds poking from the nests, not just the foxes curiosly slinking out their burrows. The night is the endless darkness, the faint light of the moon your savior. And yet, the day is longer, the warmth of the sun enveloping you. The rainy days are the sun reminding you that it won't be there forever, much to the heartbreak of the gentle bliss in this world. For the sun is but the only thing that stands between the world and an eternal night, for the moon won't always put up with the darkness it must weakly light, for that is the definition of day and night...
