• 1st Stanza

    I am from a mysterious place, where there is light yet I can only see the dark.
    I am from a place that is unnaturally hot.
    I am from a city that seems filled with life, despite the unforgiving heat.
    I am from a home where I have lived for short periods of time, from a place that only I can call home.

    2nd Stanza

    I am from a place where family is important, from the usual gatherings to important events.
    I am from the funny and the been-working-all-week.
    I’m from the place where a ruler was used to teach discipline.
    I’m from where family values and valuable lessons were taught in early childhood.

    3rd Stanza

    I’m from my uncles home and ranch, where the smell of meat and corn fill the air.
    From the time someone almost lost a finger, to when many of us forgot the location of an important place.

    4th Stanza

    On the day when my eyes were truly opened, I found a lobby, where many hallways encircle.
    As I look on, I am presented with a choice to make.
    From the moment I was born, to the moment I become an old man leaning on his cane, the time to make a choice is now.
