• Eve awoke with a start. The same dream again, she thought. Lately, she had been having these dreams, terrible dreams. Dreams that would cause her to wake up either screaming or crying. The thing about these dreams was that there were no faces, just sort of... presence. She had that feeling as if someone was watching her. The presence was there, she could feel its eyes on her in her dreams. She didn't know what it ment. When she tried explaining it to herself she shook it off, telling herself that she was crazy. In a family like hers, everything ment something. Eve was taught to be aware of everything around her. Because anything and everything was her enemy. You couldn't have too many friends, because odds are, they will end up trying to kill you in the end. Especially if they found out who you were. Being Lucifers daughter sucked like that.

Eve looked around her room. She could see light coming into her room from a crack in her curtain; it was morning. Getting out of bed, she heard her father yelling from outside her room.
    "Up, Up. UP!" he yelled.
Down, Down. Down! Eve thought. She as so tired she could only just remember where her cupboard was. After she had finally chosen her outfit for the day - which was only a My Chemical Romance T-shirt and jeans - Eve waslked down the hallway and into the kitchen, where her father was cooking eggs for breakfast.
    "Good sleep?" he asked.
"It was fine", Eve replied, remembering her dreams. "Where's Rafiel?"
Rafiel was Eve's brother. He was usually home, but since he isnt getting any older, he living his life the way Lucifer wanted him to. Rafiel was born around the same time as Jesus Christ and was also born from a virgin. Eve guessed that that Lucifr figured if God could create an heir, than so can he. Eve birth wasnt quite that compicated.
"Rafiel had something to take care of."
Eve looked up from the table, suddenly wondering what he ment. Of couse, deep down she knew. When her father said something like that, it ment someone needed killing or something needed to be burnt down , and her brother was almost always the one for the job.
Eve chewed her bacon and slurped her juice until she was full. Then she stood and reached for her backpack.
"Why dont you stay home today?"
Eve jumped slightly hearing her fathers voice. Skip school? He was the one who always complained that we needed to blend in, in order to conquor. Which just seemed stupid to Eve.
"Uhh... nah. I have a paper due today."
Lucifer nodded and pursed his lips.
"I was hoping we could spend some time together. So we could talk."
Eve let out a heavy sigh and dropped her pack.
"Fine, but i have to be at school in half an hour. Thats when my first class starts."
"This kind of conversation shouldnt have a time limit."
"Well its either this or we dont talk at all."
Lucifer frowned and shrieked back slightly.
"What is wrong with you? Having nightmares again?"
Eve pursed her lips, feeling anger inside her.
"I know what conversation you want to have, Dad, and I keep saying that..."
"You dont want anything to do with your duties. I know. But you have to understand that you have no choice. Sooner or later your going to have to face it all. Your time will come."
"I dont want a time. Time has done nothing for me. I am not like Rafiel, Dad." Eve could feel her voice become louder with every word. "I cant kill people for the sake of it. Or just because you feel that they dont belong on this world. Well let me tell you something, Lucifer. I dont belong in this world either. I have no purpose. And if you think that i am going to follow you around like a lost puppy, you're wrong!"
"Eve! Sit back down, the neighbours will hear you."
"Let them hear," she began. "No one cares anymore, Dad. I never asked to be this."
    "But you were chosen!"
    "No, I was born!"
They stared at eachother for a minute.
"Eve, listen. I'm not saying that you have to do it right now; you can finish school. But after that you need to do what you were ment to do."
"Like I said before, I am not going to do it."
"Its your destiny!" Lucifer almost yelled.
"No one can truly know their destiny, Dad. Ever seen Merlin?"
"I know your destiny. You will be great. You and Rafiel can rule this world. You can do great things."
"I dont want to do great things I just want to be myself."
"You will be yourself. Its what you were ment to do!"
"Oh, come off it, Dad!" Eve almost rammed the table right into her father. "You know thats not true. I cant live for ever. I bleed, I cry, I feel, just like every other HUMAN!"
    "Your not human!"
"Yes i am. And i dont know where you come off pretending Im something im not. I'm going to die some day. I cant live forever like Rafiel. That guy is 2000 years old and he can barely pass for a 20 year old!"
"Like i said, your time will come!"
"My time is no where in sight, Dad." Eve's voice was now low. She was still outraged, but she wanted this conversation to finish as soon as possible. "My time will never come. Because i dont it to."
And with that, Eve grabbed her pack and walked out the front door. Leaving her father to think about why he had fallen in love with a human in the first place.
