• "Welcome! What planet did you travel from?" She looked at me with her grey eyes, not blinking even once. "Earth" A puzzled look came across her face, "Earth? Excuse me.. I have just never heard of that planet before. It must be a great distance away from Panama" At once she looked out the window and pointed towards a galaxy. It was beautiful with many colours. "That is my homeland" She looked down, just for a minute. Loneliness wept over her eyes as she snapped her head towards me and back at the galaxy, emotion coming back to her face. "It is impossible to see with human eyes from this distance but within that galaxy are 13 planets. Each of them is completely different. One day, I'd hope you would get to visit them as they don't often recieve travellers from these uni-ships." She turned to me and lifted a smile, "Well, shall we? Your papers are waiting to be filled out at the reception. As soon as they are completed and filed your training can begin" Still immersed in what I had just been told of those 13 planets I finally replied, "I will definitely visit them all" Again, a smile appeared on her face which was quickly wiped away with the flashing of lights and sounding of alarms. "Quick! Run to the escape pods. They are used for emergencies, incase something happens to the ship." She quickly put her hand in one of her pockets, grabbed a map out and handed it to me. It was a map of the ship. "Go!" As soon as she said that I looked at the map and began heading towards the escape pods. But something was bothering me.. she had run off in the wrong direction. In all the fuss she had lost her way. Leaving my things behind I ran in the direction she went. "Miss? Miss!" I didn't know her name, which made things difficult. People were running past me in both directions, as I began to wonder what was going on. Just for a second I turned towards a large glass window on the ship, and looked out of it. Coming towards us at an alarming speed was another uni-ship only it was on fire and destroyed. As if it had been attacked. I knew it now, there was no hope of me getting out of this alive. I had spent so much time looking for her that I had lost my way and I was now, far from any escape pod. I turned towards the window once more, expecting death. The escape pods were flying away at incredible speeds. I had been left behind. All of a sudden, it felt as if time had slown down and my death was already here. I watched as the ship crashed into the side and I ducked for cover. As if a conditioned response, even knowing it would not help me. The window crashed open as the uni-ship quickly broke apart in fire and pieces. I was starting to lose conciousness, life, as my body was hurled into space. I closed my eyes and only every few seconds did I dare to open them. My heart was beating extremely fast and I could feel my insides as they wanted to explode. Much to my surprise as I started to open my eyes a sixth time, I saw a hand hold mine. This time I did not close my eyes again but my vision was blurry so I could not make out the figure now holding on to my hands. Covered in debree, stars and black my mind only wondered who this was. Just for a second my vision came back and I noticed who it was. It is that woman who I ran after only a moment ago. It seemed like eternity but this had only happened in the time frame of a few minutes. She moved my hands up towards my chest while holding them tightly in hers as a single tear went down her face. "I'm sorry I cannot save you" I was too busy trying to make out her face instead of listening to her words as I crept towards death even faster. "Your species cannot survive in space.. and I cannot fly you towards a ship or planet fast enough. I'm sorry!" My heart ached when I finally heard her words. "Miss.." Quickly she replied, "Rhea! My name is Rhea!" My lips gave her one last smile. "Rhea.. thank you for holding my hand. I'm sorry, that I could not visit your home world" My vision went, eyes closed, hands weakened their grip and heart began to slow. Blood burst it's way through my mouth as incredible pain appeared in my last seconds. This is it.
