'Till Death Do You Part

Leia sits and contemplates the years she's spent with her husband one sleepless night.

Bits of the story: (in first person)

The moonlight shines through the blinds, illuminating parts of him. It's a good thing his eyes are away from the window - he's such a light sleeper. A glint of light catches my eye as the moonlight makes his ring glow. It gives me such a warm feeling - the thought of him wearing the twin of my own ring.

It's been ten years since we were first married. Ten years of laughter, and sadness, anger, and love. We thought it would be fun and games, but it turned out to be so much more.

My gaze once again falls upon my slumbering prince and I yearn to touch his face. But I know that would wake him. So I sit, and I watch. Angry red digits glare through the darkness. '4: 36' It's going to be dawn soon. I've stayed up too late once again.

I slowly stand and move towards his side. Gently as I can, I slip into the covers and watch his back. Today's going to be another day. Another day. I move in closer to feel the warmth of his back. I lean in, and breathe his scent. Another day...

I feel him shift, and to my surprise, he is already awake.

"Why do you insist on watching me, when you know you're going to need the sleep?" he asks lovingly.

"I'm afraid you might leave if I dont" I reply meekly, scared of facing my fears.

He laughs softly, and places a gentle kiss on my forehead. "Silly woman. I made an oath. Till death do us part"
