Rinto looked up at the starry night sky with a sigh. He had been searching non-stop for almost a full week without sleep. His lead was a good one, but with out having hard facts, it was just pointless. The cat demon wanted revenge badly. That fox demon had taken his mother away, his only hope of knowing where he belonged. Anger boiled to the surface of his conscience. Rinto jumped down from the tree he was on and kicked the tree. His foot and leg throbbed on impact. He ignored the pain, still storming in his hate. “You b*****d!” The youngling yelled. “I will kill you!” Venting his anger will hear him, out trough voice, he yelled until he become tired. He knew the spirits of the trees and earth but he hoped no one else was there. Rinto waked over to the lake that was not too far from him. Sitting by the lakeside, Rinto started to think of another way to find the fox demon.
Shokan had been flying in the moonlight and flew down in front of the demon. As he hovers a ripple effect happens below his hanging feet at the water a few feet below his. "You seem angry..." He smiled after saying the obvious comment. "Nature is good for many things, but venting to something that isn't so easily heard doesn't do much for your anger does it?" He lowered himself so the tips of his toes ran through the water and he began to slowly move to the demon. "Perhaps I can help though, if you don't want to talk to me however I can translate nature roughly." He smiled again, "But you may want to apologize for kicking the tree earlier." He chuckled to himself and crossed his arms and looked at him, his eyes seemed to sparkle with the water as the moon reflected off of it.
Rinto gave an irritated look at the angel for disturbing his thoughts. He stood, unwrapping his tail from his waist. It gave a few upward twitches before moving form left to right. “Apologize to the tree? How would I do that? Why would I even want to?” Rinto questioned in his medium level voice. Deep down he did want to apologize to the tree spirit, but he wasn’t going to say so in front of someone he didn’t know. Rinto turned his back on the angel and headed farther down the lakeside.
Shokan smiled and put his covered his mouth with a few of his fingers to stop from chuckling. He flew a bit higher and faster silently and put his feet on the demons head lightly. "It's not very polite to be rude, I was being friendly.... I don't do that often." He lifted himself from the demons head and landed a few feet in front of him. "Well I suppose I was rude too, I didn't introduce myself, I am Shokan. I am pleased to make your acquaintance." He bowed slightly.
Rinto threw his head down while quickly rubbing his hands through his hair. Lifting his now untamed hair and head to look at the one that just introduced themselves as Shokan. Holding his arms, Rinto said, “Don’t put your feet on my head again. Or else I’ll never be polite.” After moments of silence Rinto gave in. “Rinto.” The cat demon stared at the angel questioningly. ‘Why would he want to speak with me?’ He asked in his mind.
Shokan grinned, "I apologize, it was not proper of me, I was simply trying to make you smile." He stood straight again, "It's nice to meet you Rinto." He rested his hands behind his head, "So what are you doing way out here?" He walked a few steps closer to try and get a better look at him.
Rinto smoothed out his hair making it look the way it did before. Which there was no real difference in the way it looked. The cat demon frowned and the angel and his approach. “Don’t ever touch the hair.” Rinto said with an almost growl. He wasn’t used to meeting up with other beings and chatting. The last time he ran into someone in the forest, they tried to rob him. Though, this was more interesting then just being by himself. “Nothing, really. Just a bad lead.” Rinto didn’t feel like saying too much unless Shokan asked him. His life was rather boring to him anyways.
Shokan laughed quietly before he covered his mouth with his index finger, "You shouldn't have said that, now I'm going to have to mess up your hair." He smiled to him." A lead to what? Are you some sort of detective?" He smiled to himself, "Or are you after someone, someone that has betrayed you... Someone you wish to kill." He smiled again this time with a devious look in his eyes, "But why would a demon my age want revenge...." He smiled and walked next to him, making sure not to hit him with his wings. "A pretty face like yours shouldn't be wasted on revenge." He turned to him, "Revenge eats at the soul... no death, theft, or anything is worth a soul." His eyes quickly changed back to the light ones, "So do you ever sleep?" He made a strange look on his face not knowing why he asked that.
Rinto gave Shoran a cold glare before his mood lightened. Rinto’s tail twitched with movement. “What would you know of revenge?” Rinto paused before continuing. “I am looking for someone I must kill. I do hunt him for vengeance. With out it, I would have nothing. No purpose at all. He took away my purpose a long time ago.” Tilting his head to the moon, Rinto closed his eyes. He opened one eye back to look at Shoran. “Yes I do.” Rinto lowered his head and turned to the wind angel. “When ever I feel like it.” Rinto turned from him again and stretched out on the ground. It may have been night, but it was pretty warm. The cat demon turned onto his back and watched the stars.
Shokan smiled, "I know quite a bit of revenge, I have had very few friends in my lifetime, all who I've meet in this forward, in different locations.... but the only reason I knew where they were, was because they were yelling like you. Many people travel through the forest without me knowing, because they don't disturb nature, and the funny part, they were all after revenge." He sat next to the demon. "They changed over time, I followed them on their quest, and their hate eventually turned their soul black, and changed their personality. Eventually they turned on even me their only friend at the time, and I left and never heard from them again. Time and time again it happened, so I began to hate myself, but I chose to control my hate, I eventually avoided all contact with anything but nature. So now I am a "pure" soul so to speak, with scars." He smiled and looked to the moon. "I don't want that to happen to you Rinto..."
Rinto took his eyes from the stars to look at the angel next to him. He had a harder life then he did. No matter, it didn’t concern him as much. “Why would you care?” Rinto asked quietly. “Sure, they were all for revenge, but what makes you think I’m the same?” Rinto turned his head back to the sky and put his arms behind his head. His tail moved to the side, slightly touching Shokan’s leg. “I am and never will be like anyone else, but me. Sure I can get influenced easily, but I will still be who I am.”
He laughed quietly, "I care because I like you, and they were all individuals too. They just had the same fate is all." He began to hum and a slight gust picked up. "I wouldn't have revealed myself to you if I didn't like you, as I said I am a wanderer, it may seem weird that it's hard to see a angel in the air, but I am one with the wind, so I am never seen unless it is intentional." He chuckled to himself and gazed at the moon.
“We only just met. How can you like me?” Rinto asked with out taking his eyes off the sky. Sub-consciously, Rinto moved closer to Shokan. The gust of wind made him cooler then he wanted to be. The cat demon looked at Shokan at the mention of wind. “It must be fun.” Rinto said. “ Being so free up there.”
He smiled, "It's just a thing I have, I can like people when I first meet them, if I don't like them I don't go near them." He closed his eyes and the gust stopped. "You I just like, something about you that just attracted me." He lied back now, "I love the night sky, I love the mysteries in life, which is why I try to be one." He smiled to himself.
Rinto let out a small laugh. Shokan was the first one to say that to him. Everyone he met on the road hated him just because he was a demon. Never even gave him a chance to prove them wrong. “Thanks.” Rinto smiled, turning to his side facing Shokan and closing his eyes. “It is nice.” Rinto said, moving slowly closer to Shokan.
Shokan smiled, "I don't judge anything or anyone, never have, never will." He laughed quietly, "I'm glad I can help you out, that means a lot that I am helping." He began to him a tune that sounded like the music of the wind itself. "It is nice to have someone again." He smiled and closed his eyes and listened to nature and continued to hum.
The cat demon gave a small purr in response. He could remember his mother’s soft touch. He missed it more than anything. He had no one after his mother. She was even unable to finish her last words to him. “Go…to the northern…” And she died in his arms that moment. He would get his revenge, no matter what happened to him. Rinto was very happy that he wasn’t alone anymore. If he understood right, Shokan would follow Rinto. His loneliness could be gone from him. The amethyst haired cat demon opened his eyes for a slight moment before closing them again. Soon he started to purr along with Shokan’s humming.
