--------------------

Ashen police tape closed off the alley in Sector 7. Lev and his team paced around the area, inspecting the site for any possible clues.

"Two in a day? Butterfly sure is making us work today..." moaned Kessel, a young lanky man of his early twenties with ashen gray sideswept hair.

"All the better to find something with," interjected Lev, calmly tracing a finger down a bright blue petal. The color came off on his hands, and Lev felt himself shudder slightly as he observed how stark it was against his skin. He dusted his hands together, and stepped away from the mural.

"No one touch this. I don't want you guys spreading this filth around the city, the less people encounter this, the better." He looked up and saw Jess staring blankly at the mural, strangely still.
"Jess did you hear what I said?"
"Oh, ah, yes? Yes, no touching. Got it." Jess stuttered.
"Stop staring at it. It might make you go mad. Some things aren't meant to exist."
"I know, Sir, it's just..."

Jess turned her gaze onto the inspector, a sombre look on her pretty features. "Somehow, don't you think it feels somewhat right? Like we're missing something? I mean, it sort of calms me, makes me feel like there's more to it... Well, I just don't think it's all that evil..." She trailed off as Lev cast her a look that would have curdled milk.

"You see?! It's already getting to your head! This isn't child's play, Constable. We're dealing with an entity that shouldn't be here. Go deal with the other end of the alley, and scrub your eyes or something." He growled. Jess meekly ran off to her new task, and Lev sighed. This sure was a troublesome case. He noticed the cameraman Hong standing awkwardly to one side of the the investigation crew, nether attempting to make conversation or take any pictures. Lev sighed deeply. Well, what now?

"Hong?"
"Oh, Inspector?" Hong smiled nervously, and his fingers began to fiddle subconsciously with the camera around his neck.
"That camera an accessory?"
"Um, Y'see, I was told by them higher ups - No photos. I still gotta come though, I mean, I'm still part of the team."
"Someone else gave you orders?"
"Basically, every photographer in the units were informed not to photograph any of Butterfly's works. Call it strange, but in this line of work I'm used to strange things."
"Give it here then."
"What?"
"The camera."

Hong shot him an incredulous look, then passed him the camera reluctantly. "An orders' and order, huh?" Hong moaned, "Just don't damage it, it's my baby. And well, don't get yourself in trouble." he advised. Lev snorted, and walked off, talking over his back. "The top brass don't want any pictures? Well, guess they don't need to know then."

--------

The sun rose over Pullus, chasing away the inky black of the night. Around the city, sounds of activity began to arise. Vendors set up their stalls, setting out the latest newspapers for passing commuters to purchase. On each issue of the papers, the headlines blasted "BUTTERFLY TAKEN FLIGHT, TWICE!"

Kyo sat in his studio apartment, all manners of grayscale paints and powders before him. With the speed and dexterity of one already used to this practice, he began to dust, paint and powder himself down. His brown hair was chalked to a stone-washed hue, and his skin made ashen. For his eyes, he had black contacts made to hide the brown of his iris'.

He got up and walked over to his wardrobe, where he had fitted a special lower compartment to hide the coloured costume he donned as Butterfly . Above, his wardrobe was as dull as the walls outside his apartment. He picked out a neatly ironed uniform and put in on, the fabric shuffling as he wore the different layers.

Yesterday was a productive day. A wing in Sector 3 and another in Sector 7, and still time to get back and do some work for school. For now, people were still at odds as to whether Butterfly was a great magician, or a dangerous fiend. Of course, not that he intends to hurt anyone, quite the opposite.

Kyo grabbed his schoolbag and opened the door to his apartment. As he left, he began to ponder his next move.
After 7, it's going to be sector 4. My sector. Perhaps... At school?
