Personality: Mary has a Type A personality, with a strong drive to succeed. She is a perfectionist. She is her own worst critic, to the point where she makes herself miserable. Personal Life: Mary's father, Albert, and mother, Cecilia, married young. They got divorced when Mary's little sister, Rebekka, was born. Cecilia is not a part of their lives. Mary did not have any experience in acting when she auditioned to appear in Twilight. The casting director called her acting "lackluster" but decided to include her as an extra. Another director noticed her when the film came out and offered her a chance to appear in a small role in an episode of Law and Order: SVU. Mary did not have any preset goal in her life at the time and her academics were average. Starring in that episode invoked a passion for acting. After being dismissed a couple of times, she was cast in a Hallmark movie based on a true story. She was praised by Roger Ebert for "giving integrity and power to her character in an otherwise sappy and dull film". She was then voted #9 on E!News's upcoming actors to watch. Mary got her big break when she was cast in the political thriller Public Policy. In an interview with Jay Leno, she was quoted as saying, "I hope this film is a slap to the face to my teachers who ignored me and treated me like a ghost."
