Yonni Barrios, the 21st Chilean miner to be rescued after being trapped underground for 69 days, is the only miner of the 33 who probably didn’t mind the inconvenience — considering a much larger one was waiting for him on the surface.
It seems Mr. Barrios has been having an affair with a woman named Susana Valenzuela, and it wasn’t until Valenzuela began attending prayer vigils for Barrios that his wife, Marta Salinas, became aware of her husband’s extra-marital dalliance. Salinas has been boycotting the rescue effort ever since, and was not there to meet her husband when he was pulled from the ground.
This would make an excellent telenovela. Just saying.
