November {3 stanza, AABA} November is a month I'll never forget. Therein lies a day that my life set. Who knew of the fortunes that lied ahead? Not me, nor you or anyone, I'll bet.
The months passed, and soon years. Here we are today and without fears. Who could've guessed that we'd rather be dead Than see each other in tears?
All because of that time in November We became a couple, you and I a member. Remember all the warm things we said? Yes, I'll always remember.
Mom {Haiku} She calls me sunshine Pumpkin and chickie as well. I just call her mom.
Fireball {Tanka} Rottweiler puppy We grew up together fast Stubby tail wagging We should still be together I will miss you greatly dear.
My Dreamcatcher {Couplet, personification} Hanging silently as I sleep Watching carefully as I creep
Feathered and beaded Never knows when it's needed
Destroys nightmares in my wake My protector according to legend's sake
Flowers {Name, assonance, enjambment, personification} Full of Life and Often Waltzing in the wind. Everyone eventually encounters Reservoirs of Such beauty.
The Darkness Comes {3 stanza, ABAB, enjambment, onomatopoeia, caesura} It's something we cannot hear And something we cannot see. It's a punishment so severe That it frightens me.
It's something we can sometimes feel Or at least I can. The air changes and everything's too real. Then BAM! You're a dead man.
Hope may persevere But everyone must succumb To their heightened fear When the darkness comes.
