Oh, shut up. You know you love him too.
It really doesn’t get any better than cartoons. In a world that has shows like Jersey Shore and The Hills (who watches that anymore? Geez.) it’s nice to have something that makes more sense than them without making sense at all.
I miss the good old days, though. I remember when my schedule after getting home from school included watching Spongebob Squarepants at eight and Dragonball Z at eight-thirty.
Those were the days.
Oh, and Saturday mornings were the best. My dad, my brother and I would get up at around eight to watch things like Justice League, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Spiderman (and I don’t mean that re-make they have on Teletoon), Batman Beyond, and a ton of other things. Oh, and soccer. Never forget the soccer.
Oh, and other cartoons are coming back to me now. Metabots, Megababies (if you don’t remember this one, I feel really bad for you), Hamtaro, Angela Anaconda, Teen Titans, Ed, Edd, and Eddy, Kids Next Door, Catdog, Courage the Cowardly Dog, The Proud Family, Dave the Barbarian (absolutely loved this show to pieces), Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh (watched that mostly to laugh when one of them said, “I believe in you!” Such an overused line), Beyblade…
And there’s probably a million other shows that I’m missing, but you get the idea.
I can’t be the only one who misses cartoons, y’know? There has to be a lot of other people who feel the same way I do. One time, I went to Costco, and there’s this little cellphone kiosk with a TV, and that day, they had Justice League on, and my mom (OF ALL PEOPLE!) went up to the guy at the kiosk and started talking about the episode that was on (something to do with Green Lantern), and the guy was agreeing furiously and going on about how they were taking it all away, and it looked like my mom had found her best friend or something.
In fact, I was so happy when I found out my friend had a Green Lantern t-shirt, ’cause she wore it to school one day and the beginnings of the Green Lantern motto started to go through my head, ‘In brightest day, in blackest night… “
Oh, how I miss the good ol’ days.
FullMetal Alchemist, Ruroni Kenshin, Death Note, Escaflowne, One Piece…
