Chapter 5 Part 2, Double and Nothing
Chapter 5 Part 2, Double and Nothing

Traveling with Tieria was a bit different then what I was use to. To start, she constantly was having me stop and rest, but I am not the type to stay still. If I tried to protest she’d get some scary look in her eye for a second then smiled and say relax. I did. I got use to it and it made me feel better, but time was against us. As we made our way though the vast jungle, we got to know each other. She apparently graduate from a medical clinic near our town when she found Hikari. It was shortly after I left her to ‘join’ Navimle. She was looking for her after she disappeared that night back in middle school.
“She was crying and looked as if her world was going to end. I manage to help her back to normal.” Tieria said.
I felt really low then. I never wanted Hikari to go into depression. I had to apologize deeply when this is over if I get the chance.
We continued on till the sunset in the horizon as we exit the jungle and enter an empty wasteland.
“We are almost there we may make it in time.” Tieria said.
“Good.” I said. I used my limited magic and made a fire.
We sat and warm ourselves by the fire then an increased amount of pain came to me and I began to struggle on the ground. Tieria immediately got up and started to inject some medicine to numb the pain, but it wasn’t enough, so she told me I needed to ingest it.
“I can’t.” I replied.
“Why not?” She asked.
“I can’t remove this mask, not in front of you.”
She stared at me like I was an idiot then came at me with her hand extended. She started to try to pull my mask off, but I was confident she couldn’t for only three people with a certain set of fingerprints can remove it.
I was one of those, of course. However the other two were in case of emergencies. One was Hikari for if I died, the other was…
The mask began to slip off.
I was wondering why it was coming off then realized that since Tieria and Hikari were sisters their fingerprints was almost identical.
The mask came off and then it was silent for a while. She then got up and grabbed one of my blades. Ugh, why now?
I jump back and grabbed my other blade right away, but she just stood there. She then started to say something.
“Why are you him? Why do you have to be that one?” She started to walk forward as I step back. I really didn’t want to fight her nor kill her, but I think she wanted vengeance.
“We will kill you for what you have done to her.”
“We?” I said.
In an unrelated thing right at that moment, Hikari woke up to a sneeze and a shiver down her spine. She wondered if she was getting a cold in the spring. Anyway, continuing.
“Yes, we. Long ago when I was born I was abused by my parents as well was Hikari. Hikari ran away, but something happen to me and another person was born into me.” She started to tell me then all of a sudden her hair got longer and more wild, ears and a tail grew out of her, and her sky blue eyes turn to a bloody red.
“I was born. My name is Hallelujah and I am a guy just for your knowledge.” He said with a dark voice.
“Doesn’t matter since you are about to die. It is nice to finally meet the one who hurt our sister. I have been waiting to strike you down for a long time.”
I was shocked at how different this person was from Tieria. “Wait are you a Neko?” (Half-cat, half-human).
“Yes actually, Tieria is too, but she hide hers, we are a bit feared by others. Now..” He disappeared. I looked around then heard from above me. “DIE!” He swung my blade down at me. I dodged, but he cut part of my arm. I step back then used the blade I still had in my possession to block his barrage of attacks. Just like Gramps, it was getting harder and harder to block. The wound was beginning to open as well.
I had one shot so I just stood there waiting for his attack.
“Give up, how boring.” He ran at me and lifted the blade into the air. “Let’s put it out of my misery.”
I waited till last second using my adrenaline rush attack to make everything seem to slow down. It also is hard on my body as blood leaked through my bandages. I moved out of the way just in time as my time limit ran out.
I knocked him down and grabbed my other blade back. I took both of my blades and stood above and then saw blue eyes. “Please don’t.” I then place my blades back into their sheaths and turn to leave.
“Fool” Said a dark voice follow by a kick in the head. I look up to see the red eyes in the pale moon light follow by a sea of shadows.
***
Looking down at my lifeless body, Hallelujah was about to deliver the final blow, but suddenly stop and to any other person look like he/she was talk to themselves.
“Don’t Hallelujah.” Said Tieria.
“Why not?” He replied.
“He stop before killing us.”
“He might have, but that look in his eye. It wasn’t that of a normal person.”
“Please.”
“Nope, he was mean to Hikari, we deserve to give him equal pain.” Then something moved on my body as the wind blew. They picked it up. It was a letter addressed to Hikari.
In it, I apologized for everything I had done to her unsure if she would forgive me or not. I told her that I would explain everything later just to please give me this one chance to tell her before the end of the year.
“He’s an idiot.” said Hallelujah.
“But a good caring one.” laughed Tieria. “Let’s give him this chance then you can kill him if it fails.”
“If he is still alive.”
“He will with that kind of determination.” She place some bottles with red fluids in them, vitals, and injected my body with another shot.
“Good luck, Nobody.” She said as she placed my mask back on my head she got up and turned around, “Now lets go play matchmaker.” She said with a wink then headed to the nearest city with an airport. Letter in hand.
***
I woke up alone with the bright sun overhead. I look to see I was still alive sort of and the three vitals. I took one and rewrapped my bandages. I didn’t know what changed my mind, but did notice my letter I wrote during this travel was gone. Then headed towards oasis as my time was almost gone.
***
I had one vital left and only about 6 hours left. The oasis wasn’t far, but the vital I did have may come in handy later. I decide to walk towards it in pain slowly having trouble to stand and barely crawled towards the water. I decide that I was very dumb as well for doing this and I could no longer lower my arms, but crawl till I reached it or die trying.
Inch by inch felt like a mile finally the wound reopen and I was going to faint. I manage to reach it then asked to be healed so I could protect all of those I loved. Nothing happen and I keeled over. My hand fell into the water and caused ripples represent my slowly ending life. I began to cry when all of a sudden I felt a swirl of wind and water engulf me as a voice said, “What a strange wish.” I blacked out again.
***
I had a dream where I was facing Lesth and he was laugh while he slowly burned the world under him and cause destruction to every thing and person and I was chain to a stone slab to watch then after everything burn he slowly entombed me and Navimle mocked me as the darkness began to crush my body.
I woke from it covered in cold sweet. I shook at what that dream meant then realized I was alive and my wound healed then I realized my clothes were missing as I sat up in this strange bed.
I found some temporary clothes and wore them then exit to a small hut in a little village. With my mask still on my face and the sword by my side, I looked to find who healed my wound. I saw many people in the village all half-people. I asked many who healed me, but they mostly ignore me except for a little girl who told me to see Alandra who was currently at a shrine north of the village.
I went to see a girl with hair as blue as the sea stand before me. She didn’t turn to look at me and was messing with some flowers.
“Welcome, Nobody of Twilight.”
“You know of me?”
“A bit yes.”
I paused then asked “I take it you are Alandra the Mystic?”
“I am.”
“and you healed me?”
“Yes.” She didn’t turn.
“Do you have high magic skills?”
“Yes.” She didn’t turn.
“How good?” She point to a dry shriveled up flower which burst into flames, reformed and then got rehydrated.
“Whoa!” I said. “Good, then I need your help.” I bowed before her. “Please teach me to use magic.”
With that, I could beat Lesth and be more ready for things to come. However I was not ready for what came next.
She turned to face me for the first time. I saw eyes as red as a lunar eclipse.
“No.” She said.
