"You got a story for us, Chi?"
Damn right I do. And I gotta say, of all the other stories relating to awkward advances that I've told, this one takes the cake.
For now.
I was at a tae kwon do tournament two weeks ago with the school I train with, competing in the sparring and the patterns divisions. After winning gold in both divisions (HAAAWWLLUURR), I stepped off of the winners' podium thinger and I was greeted by my friend, Michael, who's on the same team. He holds his hands up to high ten me, and when I do, he holds my hands instead. I didn't think much of it until he was about a centimetre away from my face.
Talk about awkward advance, eh? Anyways, right as he's about to close that gap, my other friend Jason (now referred to as My Hero), jumps in and he's like, "OOOUUUWAAAAH! TWO GOLD MEDALS?!" which startles Michael and he jumps away while Jason yells random things at me. This is typical of Jason, because a) he's Korean, and b) everything in life is a special occasion for him. Honestly.
Now, Michael is beyond sexy. So why would I be referring to Jason as My Hero?
Because across the ring, my mother was watching.
The whole time.
And my mom is one of those moms who is ultra-conservative. And every single time I mention one of my friends who HAPPENS to be male, she gets that evil glimmer in her eyes and says to me, "I'm buying a shotgun."
And then she goes on to say she'll kill him first, and I'll be next.
Yeah. I ♥ my mommy.
I should have seen this coming, though. I've known Michael for around four years, and prior to that momentous moment, Michael was practically my shadow. He was always draped over me in some way, and jeez, I'm an idiot, 'cause Amanda (another friend of mine) was telling me THE SAME THING, and I told her it couldn't be true because well, it couldn't. But it was. I haven't seen Michael since then, but I might be seeing him on Friday.
Any ideas as to how to go about this? Comment below. ♥
