Today I am displeased to announce a BRAND NEW NATIONAL HOLIDAY!
It is to be called Gang up on Sarah Day! On this wonderfully culture-rich day, it is custom that a gang of locals convene in worship among themselves, then gather up any readily available torches, pitchforks, or potentially dangerous pokey sticks and charge the nearest Sarah they can find, slinging insults, poking it, and generally doing everything they can do make the Sarah’s life difficult. This has been the tradition of a village in Rural Tennessee for the last 19 years, and it doesn’t seem as if this custom will go away any time soon. Unfortunately.
Yesterday Ashli was sick. And I’m sure this made her feel out of sorts. This was apparent by the fact that she nagged me incessantly, resulting in a fight.
This morning my dad asks me if he can have my taxes done for me while I’m at school. When I politely turned him down, he pitched a fit, following me and yelling at me all the way to my car, in which, feeling rushed, I really hit my skull hard against the doorframe. Later this morning, a kid gave me a hard time in the library. Deliberately taking the computer I was going to get on. Now, I’m stuck in an extra loud classroom with a splitting heading from sustaining that head injury.
My father said that after my tax rebate comes in, I’m going to get new tags for my car. But I don’t see the point of getting new ones if the ones we have now aren’t close to expiring.
Ugh.
I think I’ll read a while.
