Dear Journal,
Well, seeing as how nothing interesting happens to me, I will find another use for you. Hum... How about the annoying/funny/stupid customers I get over the phone, eh? Hah... I got loads of those.
One day a customer calls in yelling at me and saying it was my fault her husband was in the woods without a phone. They were porting over from another wireless carrier and had ordered two of the same phones. Her husband wasn't going to activate his new phone until he got back so he could have use of his old phone (which is a load of bull, because once a number is ported over, you no longer have use of the old phone.) Well, she wasn't paying attention to the phone she grabs and accidently activates her husband's phone! She wants us to change everything back. I was sick and tired of apologizing to that woman! I had nothing to do with that phone! And she even admitted she was the one who activated it saying, "I innocently activate my phone and it deactivated my husband's." See! Anyway, she was saying it was our screw up. She finally says, "Well, crap!" and hangs up. Good riddance! 9.9
Another one I got was calling in asking what the next calling plan up was and the price than the current one he had. I then give him the info and he asks what the beeping and flashing on the phone was. (He had two lines and one was going over on his minutes.) He said the person who owned the phone said he was getting "e-Mail". I thought it might have been text messages because I didn't see a data charge that would have been incurred with getting on the internet to check them. It wasn't text messages because there were NO texts at all! I said it might have been voicemail. He was like "Is that what all that one minute crap is on my bill?" I said yes. He then wanted me to go over every minute that was incurred on that phone. Company policy and security says we cannot discuss detailed billing, so I nicely said he could log onto our website and not only view detailed billing, but details of unbilled minutes as well. He then wanted me to add up all of the voicemail minutes. I said unfortunately I cannot do that and pointed out the website again. He said, "Do not point me to the website again! Get me your supervisor now!" UGH! I hate some people!! >.>
I also got this one lady who called in to do a simple activation. She was in a hurry so I was trying to do it as quickly as possible. The first *228 didn't work, so I was going to do a manual programming after I checked she gave me the correct ESN. While I was giving her the options to push she was shushing me! Telling me to shut up! Telling me to be quite, that she couldn't hear me and it at the same time. She then asked where the "stupid speakerphone" on the phone was, I told her and she told me to hush again! She was like "I'm 40 years old. I'm not deaf! Maybe I need to call back at another time." DAMN! If she knew what she was doing, then why even call in!"
One last one... Gosh, these things are flowing from me! The more I type, the more I remember. XD
I got one just the other day... a guy calls in saying his phone wasn't working and wants me to fix it. Well, he didn't know the password on the account and refused to give the last four of his social security number, saying, "Don't give me that password bullshit! You don't need it to make my phone work!" Umm, yeah, to look at the account to see if it was hotlined due to non-payment or something! Anyway, we don't need verification for general troubleshooting (power on/off and update roaming), so I check the alerts: nothing. Then I ask if he's speaking to me on the phone: he is. I ask if there's a number I can get a hold of him no: no. He was all, "Just get it fixed! Now!" So I say, "Okay, then let me contact tech support to see if there's anything they can do with you on the phone." I get tech on the other line and give her my problem. "You couldn't fix it?!" she says. Bah! Then I explain he's on the phone and I was wondering if there was anything they could do with him on the phone. She says rudely, "NO! He has to be off the phone because there's a lot of programming and rebooting involved. But if you want me to talk to him I will." I kind of giggle to lighten the mood and say, "I know, right? Thanks. Maybe if he hears it from a tech he'll ask someone to use their phone." The she's all "Name. Last 4. Put him on through." I get him on over and company policy says we introduce and NEVER cold transfer. I start introducing him and she says "transfer on over!" I'm thinking okay! I start to say "Thank you for being a very valued part of..." then she says "Transfer the call!!" Man, some people think if they're jackasses they can get something done quicker. Wrong!
Anyway, we all get graded on our calls. My supervisor randomly chose this one... and was on the TECHS side! It hurt so much. She was blaming everything on me!
I'm really starting to hate my job. >.>
Loves and God's Best, Tora-chan, Nya! =^w^= heart
