~The tale of a daring detective, named Margrate~
There once was a woman bold enough to take on the Lake Lenore cases, her name is Margrate Smith. She wore large 90’s glasses and had long orange wiry hair. But despite her looks she had a kind persona. She live’s in Lenore’s old house although no one knew that Lenore lived there. Margrate had taken on many cases before and always got them right. She was not married but was dating one of her co-workers, Oscar. He was very considerate and always worked with Margrate on her cases. “Ok, so two teenager girls went missing presumed dead…” Margrate was rambling on to herself, “ It’s our first Lenore case, Oscar!” Both of them were quite excited about this, they knew that they could solve it! They were so convinced. And they also figured that this would be the easiest case of all. To horrific that they couldn’t see what was ahead of them.
First they asked around, but the case was long cold and people only knew of more recent cases. “Well, that wasn’t much of a help…” Oscar complained, “ and both mothers committed suicide so there is no one that knows much about them.” “Well, you know there’s always past friends?” magrate asked. “No sadly, they were a two-people group…” They still knew that there had to be some type of lead, and we all know there wasn’t… So then they decided to go looking for the bodies, and then maybe they could get some foreclosure. They gathered up a brave team (they would have to be in order to go looking for a person killed supposedly by Lenore’s ghost) and chose a date. They decided they would go in about 3 or 4 days, for it was a very busy month filled with birthdays and holidays. So in the mean time Margrate and Oscar just stayed home and relaxed. Although the days were actually filled with anxiety, the couple both agreed that it was a very long 4 days. But the day did come and every one had arrived.
The crew was suited and ready to go they first decided to go to the dock that Millie and Amber were swimming at, witch just so happens to be Margrate’s dock. Margrate stood there imagining what they’d see down there. “Mar? You ok?” Oscar called. “Oh, yeah, just thinking about something…” she replied distantly. “What we’ll find down there right?” “Yes, I almost fear what will be down there…” she then rushed foreword and dove into the cold chilling water, without uncertainty. She braced herself for she knew that she would get an unbearable cold feeling, then she saw her lover follow her into the water and she felt reassured. Then the rest of the team plummeted into the water. She didn’t see much at first then she dove deeper and the water started to feel much thicker…as if it was bloody, she thought to herself. Then she shook her head, and reassured herself by thinking, look it’s just a little murky, there is no blood here! You doofus. Why all of a sudden was she so scared? She had discovered so many more bodies before, probably in even worse conditions! But now she feared finding anything at all. She shivered then pressed on.
The rest of her crew followed, and they had been down there a while before they found anything suspicious. “This is… is odd, look at all this seaweed, it only grows here!” someone spoke into their under water walkie talkies. They were right; seaweed abounded in one peculiar area. “Maybe, we should check it out?” another voice said. “No, don’t you could get stuck and I don’t think you have enough air left.” Oscar commanded. Yet a few people still swam foreword. “Didn’t you hear him? Stop!” Margrate called. They still wouldn’t listen, and the moment that they touched the long unusual plant they got stuck! “No! You idiot! You could die! Why did you do that!” Margrate frantically yelled. “Margrate, I think that their connection has been cut off!” Oscar replied. In that moment their minds thought the same thing, and margrate bolted towards the surface.
She anxiously threw herself on the deck and reached for a knife in the toolbox. “Ah!” she gasped when she saw that there were no knives, and then she inelegantly stood and ran for the house. Oh no they must be running out of air really quick, she thought, and that only made her all the more swift herself. As soon as she stood at the end of the dock with a knife in her hand, she ran out of air in her air tank. Tears swelled up in her eyes as she threw the tank off her body and plunged into the freezing, merciless waters. She reached Oscar and all her back up as they lie in the water limp just floating there submissively. She swam over to Oscar and headed for the surface, but something bitter clasped around her neck. “Urk!” She yipped as it grasped around tighter, she tried to speak but lost her air and was about to pass out. She turned with a struggle to see who it was and she faintly saw a very beautiful lady weeping, but she had a ghost like appearance, and never said anything. Then Margrate went limp, and the lady tossed her into the seaweed, and then vanished.
